Job Description



•    Construct, integrate, test, and troubleshoot electrical components and assemblies to ensure that a quality product is built safely and on schedule.
•    Modify/rework electrical parts & assemblies as required to support customer and new production introduction (NPI) builds



•    Works as a key member of the APG/SuperTrak production team
•    Selects, tests, and electrically integrates hardware and software components.
•    Identifies electrical design and manufacturing problems and initiates & documents requests for changes or improvements to electrical drawings and schematics.
•    Runs in-house and, if required, on-site customer acceptance or verification tests.
•    Ensures that the system meets customer specifications.
•    Ensures system testing is performed with latest software
•    Commissions and installs project at customer sites if required.
•    Train’s customer personnel on the operation and setup of machines if required.
•    Develops work instructions and generally supports the development of the “manufacturability” of systems when transitioning products from prototype to production
•    Troubleshooting equipment/problems
•    Other tasks as assigned by Production Team Lead
•    Adheres to all health and safety rules and procedures.
•    Ensure that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with ATS code of business conduct and the ATS Confidentiality Policy




•    A Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Electrician or a Construction & Maintenance Electrician.
•    A post-secondary diploma or degree in computer science, engineering, system design or control technology would be an asset.  


•    Experience with factory automation products.  
•    Understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation is required.
•    Good written and oral communication skills and an ability to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential.  
•    Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is essential 
•    Knowledge of computers and networks would be an asset.
•    Familiar with panel layout and cell wiring.

Working Conditions:

Works in shared environment. Environment contains several hazards including electrical wiring and motorized vehicles (tow motors).


Physical Requirements:

May be required to stand at workstations for prolonged periods of time. May be required to perform a wide range of movements including bending, crawling, kneeling, etc. May be required to lift up to 30lbs. Use of hand tools requires significant manual dexterity.
