Sr Robot Technician - Integrated Services

Job Description

Required Duties  Must be able to work in a professional engineering teambased environment Engineering teams are responsible for the programming of automated robot systems for customer applications and processes Duties may include and are not limited to detailed robot programming offline programming virtual commissioning system commissioning onsite support internalexternal training and technical consultation This position may require 100% travel The candidate must be willing to perform hands on robot programming on the customers floor

Responsibilities

The following lists are general responsibilities that may vary from customer to customer 

Quality  Process

  • Accountable for high quality OLP deliverables from engineering to manufacturing 
  • Accountable for transitional meetings with Integrated Services to deliver a successful OLP
  • Share best practices as identified to other PA areas
  • Attend all project kick off meetings

Automation skills

  • Basic knowledge of designing programming simulation and testing automated machinery
  • Ability to read controls hardware drawings and mechanical sequence of operations
  • Basic electrical pipefitting and mechanical building knowledge would be a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot manifold water saver and other peripherals and configure them to communicate with the robot
  • Understanding of safe robot concepts ex DCS for Fanuc
  • Mechanical engineering skills including dynamics and kinematics

Manufacturing Process

  • Spot Welding MIG Welding MH SealAdhesive Hemming Laser WeldingBrazing Nut runner Vision

Programming skills

  • Tool Center Point User Frame Configuration Continuous motion Motion types Cartesian coordinates Knowledge of basic motion programming languages

Robot programming experience on 2 or more different robot controllers KUKA is a must

General Programming skills a plus

Industrial Communication

  • Configuration setup troubleshooting and protocol analysis of the following interfaces

  • RPI
  • Generic Ethernet Module
  • AddOnProfiles

DeviceNet

  • Baud rate and effects on network lengths and number of nodes
  • Routing critical distances drop lengths terminations etc
  • Proper bonding and grounding concepts
  • Using test equipment

  • Maintain strong lines of communication internally and with the customer

  • Create or modify software files as needed

  • Work with the simulation department for solutions and to eliminate foreseeable issues

  • Ability to run a finished assembly line with minimal to no help

  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally


Leadership skills

  • Leading robot programmers both supervisory and technically

  • Enforcement of PA procedures

  • Ability to track and monitor progress (quality and timing)

  • Maintaining issues list

  • Customer interfacing

  • Ability to provide thorough work plans

  • Follow and enforce design intent

  • Ability to apply offline programs and virtually commissioned PLC logic

  • Keeping up communication with engineering

  • Ability to work in structured and organized manner

Education and HSE

Education and Experience:

  • Community college Diploma or higher, in the field of Automation or Robotics

  • Seven plus years’ experience in related Robotics Field
