Project Engineer - Tooling Systems

Job Description

Must be able to work in a professional engineering team-based environment to deliver world class automated tooling systems. Project Engineers will work closely with Mechanical Design, Controls Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, and the customer, to follow a project from its inception to the final customer acceptance and sign-off.

Duties may include, and are not limited to:
    Process development.
    Process validation.
    Mechanical & Controls Design oversight.
    Conduct design review meetings with internal/external design resources & customers.
    Create bid specifications for 3rd party vendors of tooling & equipment that meet customer requirements.
    Documentation of project related information both internally and externally.
    Customer & vendor management.
    Review and release of all mechanical and controls design BOM’s to purchasing.
    Travel to customer and supplier sites as required (may require 30-35% travel).
    Develop and maintain KPI dashboards.
    Review and release of all mechanical and controls designs to manufacturing.
    Ensure equipment and tooling meets customer specifications throughout manufacturing and integration phases.
    Support installation on customer floor as required.
    Conduct customer design, build, and integration buyoffs.

Experience, Education, & Safety

Preferred Experience:
    Three to seven years of experience in a similar role.  

    AAS (Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering).
    BS or MS (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering) preferred.

Responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:
    Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
    Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
    Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
    Report defect in any equipment or protective device.
    Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
    Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training.
    Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
    Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
    Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
