Director Human Resources, Corporate
MAJOR DUTIES:
The Director, Corporate Human Resources, acts as the business partner to the Corporate Executive Leadership team and their functional areas, globally. Reporting directly into the CHRO, the HR Director will also act as the central contact for all global HR across our matrixed organization. The successful candidate is skilled at stakeholder management, has a demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships with top leaders and focuses on moving the overall function of HR forward.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leveraging ABM, drive progress and improvement in attract, develop and retain processes across the Corporate teams globally.
Business Partnership
• Partner with Executive Leaders on developing business, organizational and talent strategies. Support leaders in annual presentations to the CEO.
• Assist in identification of emerging talent, enable people leaders to build meaningful development plans and succession plans.
• Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins with the business.
• Drive year over year improvement in People Value Drivers | IFR & VTO
• Ensure alignment on recruitment roadmap, consistency of total rewards and consult on new positions to be hired.
• Provide advance notice, training and development for leaders as it relates to their teams or changes in the organization.
• Advocate / be the voice for the corporate segment in meetings that may impact your leaders and their teams.
HR for HR
• Establish relationships with HR leaders across regions and segments to align and roll out communications and programs developed in conjunction with local divisions or the broader organization.
• Maintain consistency for HR hires into the organization through standard onboarding templates and meetings.
• Provide advice, training and information to HR personnel globally.
• Support CHRO in building the annual operating plan. Act as the owner of the budget and spend throughout the fiscal year.
Employee Programs
Lead annual compensation/ performance cycle for all corporate employees including:
• Goals deployment
• Performance appraisals
• Calibration Sessions
• Merit, bonus and LTIP planning
• Facilitate best employer award program applications.
• Work towards sustainability report goals such as wellness and diversity/ inclusion targets.
• Ensure Corporate employees are supported by dedicated HR partners and included in region specific decisions/ programs.
HR Leadership
As a member of the HR Leadership Team (HLT), actively participate and contribute to:
• Annual HR Strategy planning session(s) including establishment of global goals
• Regular HLT meetings
• Alignment meetings across HR Leads on the Cambridge, Ontario Campus
• Work on global projects that scope multiple regions.
• Own people related metrics such as Voluntary Turnover (VTO) and Internal Fill Rate (IFR).
• Lead problem solving initiatives, focus on continuous improvement and work through implementation of solutions and sustainment of improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• A University Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources.
• HR Designation (I.e., CHRL), preferred.
Experience
• Requires a minimum of ten to twelve years experience, including 5 years in an HR management position leading people operations teams in a fast paced high-growth organization.
• Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or automation environment and knowledge of working in a matrixed organization.
• A proven track record of building and maintaining a high-performance organization and engaged culture.
• Ability to solve problems, deal with gray space and ambiguity at times and demonstrate intuitive judgment.
• Strong communication skills with proven experience aligning stakeholders with competing objectives.
