Job Summary:

 

The Director of Global ERP Systems will direct all enterprise ERP and HRIS system initiatives and services. The scope of this role will also include responsibility for third party partners as well as the engagement/partnership with our regional IT associates and site activities. 


The Director will be responsible for the strategic planning, direction, leadership, and management of the Global IT ERP and HRIS teams to ensure corporate targets and goals are met. The Director is additionally responsible for the planning and implementation of enterprise and divisional systems in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development.
 

Responsibilities:

 

Strategy
o Responsible for long-term strategic planning for ERP and HRIS solutions including a systems roadmap and 3 year rolling IT strategy, including financials, documentation, and training
o Present and seek agreement on the go-forward information solution strategy and roadmap for the organization’s ERP and HRIS solutions with key business system owners and stakeholders
o Propose an organization plan that optimizes internal and external 3rd party partners that is cost effective and scalable to effectively meet business demands
o Assess the potential impact of emerging systems and technologies relative to strategic business needs and recommend their use in the company for current and future needs

 

Operations
o Engage, plan and work with all stakeholders and team members to determine, implement and oversee all current and future ERP and HRIS business system projects
o Confer with business leaders and department heads involved with proposed projects to ensure cooperation and to further define the nature of the projects
o Ensure that effective audit, incident, and change management processes are followed within the IT department to maximize system security, integrity, and availability
o Deploy enterprise ERP, HRIS and associated systems by ensuring that all analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and transition to production activities are completed
o Collaborate with other IT leaders to ensure that all plans are effectively coordinated, interfaces are defined, and IT infrastructure requirements are met
o Support M&A projects, with an emphasis on defining timely integration and deployment plans for key ERP and HRIS solutions
o Oversee and regularly report on all major ERP and HRIS implementation plans and activities to ensure compliance to approved objectives, goals, and budgets for such activities and to report all actual deviations from such plans as soon as possible

 

Leadership
o Provide leadership and oversight to a team of direct and indirect reports responsible for ERP and HRIS solutions
o Lead multi-disciplinary teams responsible for improving or re-engineering business processes and information systems to align with strategic business directions including best practices and overall industry standards
o Negotiate and manage vendor relationships including establishing a process for evaluating new and existing vendors, to ensure services delivered meet the required business value objectives
o Ensure that the corporation makes maximum use of the ERP and HRIS business systems by providing for the education and training of the principal users and by remaining informed of developments related to the information systems that are relevant to the activities of the Corporation
o Coordinate efforts of management specialists, technical personnel, or vendors to solve problems

 

Financials
o Responsible for monitoring and reporting deviations, problems, new risks, and corrective actions on a timely and effective basis in relation to approved budgets for all IT initiatives. Reports on actual benefits obtained from major IT initiatives post implementation to assess if expected benefits are being realized and to report on any other relevant information
o Implement and manage systems and procedures to ensure the proper and efficient use of the Corporation’s IT investments and compliance with laws and contractual obligations regarding IT assets and licenses
o Manage tasks, provide cost-effective strategies to eliminate redundancies, inefficiencies, and lower costs while ensuring that system SLAs are achieved
o Responsible for financial strategic planning, project budgeting and reporting, the preparation and managing of the capital and operating budgets

Qualifications:

 

Education:
o Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred

 

Experience:
o Minimum 10 years of senior IT leadership experience managing multiple leaders 
o Extensive experience in the areas of ERP (SAP, JDE) and HRIS (SuccessFactors, WorkForce Time & Attendance, Concur) solutions, and industry best practices
o Strong project management skills that include the ability prioritize multiple initiatives and mobilize teams from various areas across IT to deliver on-time technology solutions
o Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop employees
o Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
o Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
o Demonstrated ability to identify and propose new IT business processes and systems
o Ability to take ownership, demonstrate sense of urgency and drive operational excellence
o Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
o Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
o Strong coaching, mentoring and interpersonal skills. Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to identify and propose new IT business processes and systems 
o High degree of judgment, discretion, and attention to detail
