E-Learning Specialist (Contract)

Job Description


Our Corporate I.T. team in our Corporate Cambridge division is currently looking for a bright, ambitious E-Learning Specialist who enjoys teamwork and on-going challenging projects.


1.    Instructional Design and Technical Writing (70%)
•    Using adult learning principles and agile processes, design and develop training content in support of various company departments, functions and business systems 
•    Using appropriate authoring tools and content management systems (E.g. TT-S Performance Suite, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Office 365), create a variety of content for use in online self-directed learning
•    Assist project teams in developing and delivering content (online courses, videos, KB articles and other reference materials)of a complex nature, or providing support in the form of  templates, documentation, coaching, etc. 
•    Work with SMEs and project teams to research, assess, recommend and purchase licensed content, products and services to support key projects and business services.

•    Create learner assessments and feedback mechanisms to measure effectiveness of training programs, and use the feedback to ensure that the training system and courses remain relevant and optimized.
•    Identify tools and processes to optimize the efficiency of our training initiatives, programs and strategy.


2.    Training Functions (20%)

•    Assist management by developing training policies, standards, procedures and practices covering various training approaches including, but not limited to e-learning, classroom instructor-led, virtual instructor led, performance support, one-on-one coaching.
•    Liaise with translation and localization services or use appropriate translation tools, such as SDL Trados, to ensure that content is suitable for deployment in the business languages of ATS divisions.
•    Update and maintain completeness and accuracy of all training and technical documentation.
•    Remain up to date with industry trends and developments relating to training authoring tools and delivery, content management and learning management systems. 


3.    LMS Administration (10%)    

•    As a backup for the LMS administrator, manage the day-to-day operation of the ATS Learn / SAP SuccessFactors LMS, including basic user, course and report functions. .
•    Resolve assigned Service Desk tickets relating to the LMS and any associated training courses in the LMS.
•    Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
•    Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.


Additional Information


•    College diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. technical writing, instructional design or education) and related work experience.
•    Formal training in the principles of adult education and / or instructional design is highly desirable.
•    Certifications relevant to this position are definite assets.
•    Knowledge and experience in project management principles is desirable.


•    Direct, recent experience with e-learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies, building and maintaining courseware and working in a LMS environment.
•    Strong familiarity with recognized e-learning technical standards and components (e.g. SCORM, AICC, databases, reporting tools, collaboration tools, web conferencing, etc.).
•    Hands-on knowledge of authoring technologies, content management, web and intranet design tools, and multimedia applications, including TT-S Performance Suite/LCMS, Articulate Storyline, and Office 365 .
•    Proven experience with adult learning principles and course design techniques, as well as the ability to identify and fulfill adult student needs.
•    Experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
