Global Supplier Quality Manager

Position Title: Global Supplier Quality and Development Manager
Department: Global Category Management
Report to: Director, Global Category Management

Job Summary:

 

The Global Supplier Quality and Development Manager will be responsible for the vendor management program and all the activities related to evaluating and tracking vendor performance from a compliance perspective. You must be comfortable ensuring that the Suppliers’ supply chain develops their process in line with the design intent of the customer and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant with the end customer’s needs. You will be responsible for on-site supply chain company verifications and audits, developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages, and writing reports documenting production issues.

Responsibilities:

 

• Investigate and approve or reject any deviation waivers for Global supplier requests
• Conducting supplier audits to support the development of critical / growth suppliers
• Create/monitor Global Critical Supplier scorecards
• Drive improvement with Global Critical Suppliers through corrective actions
• Assist the Supplier Quality Engineers
• Maintain good relationships with all functional groups and locations within the company by participating in functional and multi-functional teams
• Educate divisions/employees/departments on the Supplier Quality Management System
• Provide orientation for new corporate hires regarding the Supplier Quality Management System
• Maintain the Global Critical Supplier documentation on the Global Business & Quality Management System
• Identify international standards to be used for special processes for ATS globally (SSPC, MIL-8625F etc.)
• Working Knowledge of standards ISO 9001:2008/13485:2003
• Investigate product/process/system quality issues, develop and initiate improvement, corrective actions, and/or preventative actions (CAPA)
• Maintain a Supplier Rating System in coordination with Purchasing 
• Perform supplier certification
• Maintain the supplier corrective action process
• Conduct or direct external process and procedure compliance audits and witness operations at suppliers’ facilities as required
• Assist sites in the interpretation of supplier quality, technical performance, and business requirements
• Demonstrate the following competencies: excellent leadership skills, leadership and managerial courage, people development, building trust, strategic agility, coaching, communication, problem solving using root cause analysis, decision making, and ability to motivate others and coordinate activities
• Build a cohesive Integrated Quality and Purchasing alignment to achieve common goals
• Self-manage all assigned corporate projects to ensure compliance as per ISO 9001:2015/13485:2016
• Liaise with vendors for technical information and specifications
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards
• Traveling when and where required (upward of 50%) to support multiple plant locations in North America, Europe and Asia

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

• A degree in a Quality Management or Certified Quality Engineer - CQE or equivalent

 

Experience:

• A minimum of 8 years of supplier quality and certification and some experience in a custom manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects management and other MS Office software
• Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical/electrical designs and understanding of acceptable/poor welds, applying and reading weld symbols on drawings
• Understand proper machining/fabrication techniques, finishes, hardness, to manufacture products
• Thorough knowledge of drafting principles ANSI Y14.5M including applying and reading GD&T
• Ability to effectively manage large data files derived from ERP systems
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interact a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Must be able to travel to various locations in North America, Europe and Asia
