HRIS Business Systems Analyst

Job Description

 

Position Title:        HRIS Business Systems Analyst
Department:        Global IT Shared Services
Reports To:        Business Applications Manager

 

Job Summary:

The ATS Corporate IT department is responsible for the development and delivery of key enterprise-wide IT systems and services.  The HRIS Business Systems Analyst role is the primary liaison between the Global IT Shared Services group and other ATS divisions / departments that utilize HRIS information systems or data. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for providing operational support to system users, leading and participating in the researching, planning, design, development and deployment of information systems projects, and coordinating activities between IT management, system users and information systems developers (internal and external).  

 

The incumbent, who must have a combination of related technical skills coupled with HRIS or WFM experience, is also responsible for understanding related industry best practices and ensuring that those practices are integrated in our systems at an appropriate level. The HRIS Business Systems Analyst will also compile analysis and data related to Human Resources functions, including compensation & benefits, employee performance, and analytics and metrics.
 

Job Responsibilities

 

HRIS:

  • Maintain HRIS system, data integrity, and overall function in collaboration with HR and other stakeholders
  • Accountable for data collection, analysis, and recommendations
  • Support internal clients with the development and design of analytics/reporting 
  • Focus on continuous improvement and streamline processes to provide greater efficiencies
  • Provide ongoing research, analytics and recommendations to support the HR department and the business in making effective decisions

 

Acquisition & Deployment:

  • Research information system solutions to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and system enhancements. 
  • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.

 

Operational Management:

  • Respond to IT support requests (incidents and service requests) to meet defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide key system stakeholders, both within and external to the IT department, with updates about system problems and planned changes.  
  • Test proposed system changes to ensure that the changes work as required and to avoid creating other problems.  Ensure that the designated business system representatives review and approve changes as required.   Complete post-resolution follow-ups to ensure that problems have been adequately resolved.
  • Prioritize, schedule and communicate information about system changes.
  • Plan for and perform preventative system maintenance activities (releases, patches, etc.)
  • Maintain the all relevant system documentation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
     

Job Qualifications

 

Education:

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources or IT is preferred
  • CHRP designation, or above, is preferred
  • Additional education or experience in HRIS management an asset
  • Certifications such as CMII, CMMI, PMP or CBAP are definite assets 


Requirements:

  • Experience in using, administrating, and configuring HRIS systems. SAP SuccessFactors and Workforce Software experience considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills including the ability to draw results and implications from data with the ability to contribute to decisions and provide recommendations
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process and data modeling.
  • Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Advanced competence in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, and handle sensitive information
