Inventory & Surplus Lead

Major Duties

  • Collect, log, and store excess project materials in surplus area
  • Receive, log, and store long-lead dedicated project materials in controlled job material area
  • Process surplus requisitions to issue & transfer materials to active jobs
  • Deliver requisitioned and transferred materials directly to active jobs to the proper inventory locations
  • Coordinate material returns to suppliers, including completion of NCR, Purchase Order, Credit Order, & Shipping Request Form.
  • Assist Accounting with processing credits for returned materials
  • Establish and conduct cycle count process to ensure logged inventory is correctly located
  • Establish and conduct periodic donation process to local educational institutions
  • Participate in continuous improvement and make suggestions to improve current processes.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
  • Adhere to customer, corporate, divisional governance requirements and associated quality procedures and policies
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures

Additional Responsibilities

  • Establish, organize, maintain, and set proper controls for all types of inventoried materials
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain Leaders to set and maintain KPIs
  • Support Supply Chain Leaders by assisting with other Procurement activities such as expediting and buying
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures



  • A post secondary diploma or degree in Materials Management or equivalent an asset



  • 2 years’ experience in warehousing and inventory functions 
  • Strong MS Office skills an asset
  • Experience in JD Edwards ERP and Cardex Inventory System is also an asset
