Lead, Special Projects

Job Summary

The Lead, Special Projects will be responsible for supporting a variety of programs and initiatives to continuously improve our processes, implement technology and new programs for the Cambridge After Sales and Service team.   The project portfolio could include implementation of new technology platforms, deployment of augmented and virtual reality initiatives, development of new sales programs, inventory expansion and much more.  This team member will be a key contributor to achieving the service divisional objectives
The successful candidate will leverage their influencing, change management, and strong project management skills to execute projects while managing teams to timelines and targets to achieve successful outcomes. 

Job Descriptions

Successfully execute business initiatives leveraging strong project management practices:
The successful candidate will be responsible for applying their strong planning, time management and multi-tasking skills to successfully execute critical business projects.   They will be adept at working cross functionally at all levels of the organization.  

•    Supervises and oversees the internal ATS cross functional team to complete projects efficiently in accordance to established schedules, budgets and quality standards.
•    Accountable for all aspects of the project including; delivery, performance to schedule, and performance to budget 
•    Ensures that all problems related to tasks are being addressed and tasks are progressing as effectively as possible.
•    Plan, monitor and display control throughout the entire project life cycle.  
•    Identify, manage, and mitigate risk on all projects.   
•    Effectively communicate project updates, tasks, and status to all key stakeholders.
•    Plan and facilitate a regular cadence of project meetings.   
•    Maintain a forecast and schedule to track conformance to budget and committed timeline
•    Engage and manage stakeholders across all functions of the organization including Senior Leadership, marketing, IT, HR, Engineering, Assembly, Supply Chain and Shared Services.  
•    Ensure that the handoff from the project team members to the business process owners at the completion of the project is successful and the necessary deliverables – work instructions, error proofing and / or training – is provided.  
•    Support divisional leaders in the development and execution of Goal Deployment Improvement Priorities.  
•    Support new 
•    Share learnings, conduct post project reviews, and ensure corrective actions are documented and sustained.
•    Attends site visits as required
•    Advocates and fosters a team environment both within the department and throughout the division.

Enhance and Optimize how we interact and do business
Evolve and drive operational effectiveness and process improvement by leveraging the ATS Business Model (ABM)
•    Participate in problem solving and Kaizen initiatives.
•    Conduct internal and external benchmarking and diagnostic studies, SWOT analysis and market analysis as required to provide insights and direction to the business.  
•    Support analytical work as required
•    Track and demonstrate impact of the continuous improvement initiatives.  
•    Lead the talent development of your team and ensure individual goals and KPI’s are met.
•    Conduct employee performance evaluations, recommend salary adjustments and initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures. 
•    Hold daily team huddles, weekly governance reviews and monthly communications with the team and cascade performance expectations from the divisional and global service leadership. 
•    Other activities as required by leadership.   

Additional Information

•    A post-secondary diploma, degree, or certificate of qualification specializing in a project management or engineering.
•    Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.


•    Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and service relationship management in a technical environment.
•    Must have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and construction team.
•    Self-driven, pro-active, resourceful, tenacious, and able to influence without authority.
•    Expertise with Microsoft suite software including Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint.
