Prospect Development Representative

 

Job Description

Overview
This individual will have responsibility for growing the prospects portion of the Marketing and Sales funnel.  Utilizing various information sources and tools, the incumbent will find the right people to reach out to, and then work with the Marketing and Sales teams to build relationships and qualify the prospect(s).  This role will report to the Sales Enablement Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities
•    Actively and regularly search out, reach out to, and engage with prospects with phone calls, video, and/or personalized emails to establish warm leads and relationships
•    Consult with Marketing to ensure digital messaging is optimized and responsive, oral scripts promote dialogue and a memorable experience, and develop materials that will engage prospects for further interactions.
•    Work with Sales to:
a.    Understand current priorities, customers, offerings, value proposition, voice of customer (pain points) to identify appropriate prospecting targets
b.    Establish and keep current the definition of the ideal prospect profile
c.    Identify target accounts and prospects that fit the ideal prospect profile
d.    Regularly review prospect lists to determine which prospects to continue to nurture/qualify and which to pass directly to Sales
e.    Solicit feedback about quality and substance of generated prospects, and adjust activities accordingly
•    Identify, recommend and implement various tools to provide industry-specific and relevant information re. customer and competitive behaviours, contact information, etc., and assist with sales development and prospecting
•    Achieve and report on weekly and monthly targets for net new prospect generation
a.    KPIs associated with the job will include (all per time period demonstrating a cadence rather than spikes): # net new prospects, # sales qualified leads, # leads that convert to proposals, $ bookings from leads
•    Build and maintain your social media presence; join and participate in groups in order to develop networks - comment, answer and ask questions, share useful information, etc.
•    Research/monitor life sciences manufacturing-related trends, pain points, events, announcements, etc., prepare and share regular briefing reports, and recommend updates/changes to Sales and Marketing priorities and activities as a result
•    Establish and document prospect development process


Required Skills & Experience
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Strong research and analytical skills
•    Experience with SalesForce, LinkedIn Navigator, and SalesForce Outreach is an asset
•    Strong sense of urgency and meeting deadlines
•    Highly self-motivated, while able to work independently as well as a member of a team
•    College or university degree in life sciences or related field, AND B2B prospecting experience in the technology, engineering and machine automation industries, OR
•    College or university degree in the technical and engineering field, AND B2B prospecting experience in the life sciences industry.
•    Minimum 5-years experience in prospecting in GDPR-compliant markets, preferably with companies with > $50M annual revenue.
