Senior IT Network Administrator


Job Description


The Global IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services.  As a member of the IT Technical Services team, the incumbent is responsible for implementing a wide-variety of technical solutions and managing day-to-day operations to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and security of the ATS information assets in a cost-effective manner.  

The Senior Network Administrator will design, install, modify, monitor and maintain the ATS network systems. Exceptional analytical skills are required to trouble shoot issues and deliver secure, creative, value-driven solutions.


Responsibilities – Systems Administrator Role with Security focused duties.

•    Establishes VPN, LAN, WAN and DMZ specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols. 
•    Continually improves the networks by monitoring and evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
•    Secures the networks by developing and implementing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation systems; maintaining documentation.
•    Administers Network, Wireless devices
•    Maintains VPN Gateways, DNS Security and intrusion detection systems. 
•    Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
•    Maintains inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of configurations, standards and vendor activities.
•    Protects organizational value by keeping information confidential.
•    Contributes to Annual Budgeting processes
•    Defines requirements for globally scalable networking systems based on current and future needs and performs product selection processes.
•    Follows internal standard practices such as Ticket and change control processing, project management duties according to our internal PMO processes, Procurement processes.
•    Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership of tasks and requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Additional Information


Education & Certification
•    University degree or college diploma in a related discipline or relevant work experience in the systems administration and operations field. 
•    Certification such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco certifications, Cloud Networking and Cloud Architecture or other similar certifications relating to the job functions are desirable.
•    Exceptional Analytical Skills; 10 years of combined relevant experience and education; MCSE, MCSA or CCNA


Knowledge & Experience
•    Extensive knowledge of network technologies and Network operating systems
•    Knowledge of security and encryption disciplines.
•    Experience with Telephony services and systems.
•    Experience supporting mobile device management systems.
•    Knowledge of technical management processes (change control, disaster recovery planning, security administration and best practices)
•    Extensive knowledge of related desktop, network, and operations disciplines
•    Knowledge of current and emerging IT technologies across a broad range of IT disciplines, including, hardware, software, networking, operating systems, applications development and database management.
•    Working knowledge of project management best practices.
•    Knowledge of key business processes and a strong understanding of the technical requirements for those key processes.

Work Conditions
•    Must be able to provide after-hour and weekend support. 
•    Must be able to travel to other ATS sites and training conferences as deemed necessary.
•    Sitting for extended periods of time.
•    Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
