Continuous Improvement Facilitator

Job Description

We are going through some exciting changes at BioDot, Inc.!  The Continuous Improvement Facilitator is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation of the ATS Business Model within a Division, and specifically with continuous improvement (Kaizen) and effective Problem Solving throughout the organization. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a talented high-potential candidate to make an impact on the organization while learning more about the custom automation industry.

This candidate will facilitate the Process Improvement Team and manages the opportunities through tasking to closure. They will provide active leadership, skill transfer and mentoring in continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business objectives.
 

Responsibilities:

•    Assist functional teams at the site/division to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and the 8 Value Drivers for ATS through the use of effective problem solving, identification of Kaizen opportunities, and facilitating the Kaizen Process.
•    Collaborate with Kaizen/Problem Solving Team Leads and process owners to establish project goals, strategies and priorities.
•    Directly provide formal and informal ABM training and coaching on basic tools including: Problem Solving, Standard Work, Kaizen Event Process.
•    Facilitate Kaizen events, monthly KPI reviews, daily walk arounds, weekly project status report out meetings.
•    Driving a robust 5S audit program with reporting to divisional ABM lead and General Manager. 
•    Act as a mentor by cultivating a network of experts in the workplace.
•    Directly provide formal and informal ABM training and coaching on basic tools including: 5 why, fishbone diagrams, problem solving forms, kaizen process, etc.
•    Transfer new strategies and tools in the form of training, workshops, case studies, local symposia, etc.
•    Sell the organization on the use of continual improvement and 6 Sigma breakthrough strategy and tools.
•    Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct and ATS Core Values.
•    Demonstrating extreme ownership mindset and cascading culture throughout all team members involved in every detail. 
•    Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
 

Additional Information

Education

•    An Engineering degree or equivalent is required, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering is preferred 


Experience

•    1-4 years of Process Improvement, Engineering, or Operations Manufacturing Experience in a “Lean” Manufacturing environment
•    Ability to work well with all levels of the business, from line-level to General Manager, with superior communication skills (both verbal and written). 
•    Exposure to a variety of ABM (lean) tools (or six sigma or equivalent continuous improvement tools) such as Waste & Value-Add, Formal Problem Solving, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvements, etc. 
•    Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.  
•    Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
•    Leadership abilities.
•    Problem Solving, Kaizen or Six Sigma Training
