Senior Benefits Specialist


Position Title:  Senior Benefits Specialist (USA)
Department:  Total Rewards, Human Resources
Reports To:  Director, Total Rewards


Job Summary:
Our global Total Rewards team is looking for a Senior Benefits Specialist who thrives in dynamic high growth environments, enjoys collaborating with HR Managers located all over the country, and effectively partners with third-party consultants.


The Senior Benefits Specialist will act as a subject matter expert on all US employee benefits and retirement programs – including health, medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), as well as 401(k) retirement plans



  • Benefits Plan Design, Coverage Evaluation, Benchmarking, and Cost Analysis
  • Vendor Management – Collaborate regularly with third-party consultants and brokers on program design, effectiveness, improvements as well as day-to-day support
  • Benefits Plan Administration – Manage day-to-day operations, administration and enrollment (new hire, annual re-enrollment, withdrawals, etc.). Support HR Managers, Employees and Managers with inquiries & escalations. Track monthly/quarterly costs and coordinate chargebacks to each Business Segment. Proactive coordination with Payroll on remittances, rate, etc.
  • Communications & Training – Provides guidance on benefit program features, plans, and options to HR Managers, Employees and Managers. Develop and deliver communication and training materials for hew hire onboarding, employees, as well as HR.
  • Acquisitions – Support HR Leaders with new entity enrollment, eligibility, coverage and discovery due diligence, where required. 
  • Compliance – Ensuring compliance with insurance, tax, legal and other regulations and filing requirements.





  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Benefits Professional Designation considered an asset, such as SHRM Certified Professional or US Certified Employee Benefits Designations



  • 5 years of experience in HR and US benefits administration
  • Extensive knowledge of US employee benefits, in terms of landscape, plan options and legislation 
  • Organized and resilient, able to understand and assess priorities
  • Strong project coordination skills and experience initiating, planning, executing monitoring and closing projects collaboratively
  • Tech savvy, enjoys automating manual processes and leveraging technology
  • Ability to build relationships and partnerships with Global HR leaders located throughout the world 
  • Proficient with MS Excel with strong data analytics skills
  • Exposure to SuccessFactors Employee Central considered an asset but not required
