Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Description

 

Position Title:  Senior Payroll Specialist (US)
Department:  Corporate HR Shared Services
Reports To:  Director, Total Rewards

 

Job Summary:
Our Corporate HR team is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist who enjoys teamwork, client relationships and on-going challenging projects. 
This individual will be responsible for completing and administering the payroll function for the US divisions of ATS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reports for financial reporting purposes.  
 

Responsibilities

 

Payroll Administration:

  • Responsible for meeting all biweekly deadlines in payroll using ADP Workforce Now
  • Adhere to ATS payroll guidelines/policies and all statutory payroll requirements
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of payroll information for employees pays and government reporting
  • Responsible for closing weekly hours in Time and Attendance system and uploading to ADP
  • Upload all files into ADP from SAP Success Factors HRIS system for payroll processing
  • Administer various payroll deduction plans and remitting to appropriate third parties (401k, ESPP, etc.)
  • Conduct off-cycle payroll runs such as annual vacation and bonus pay outs
  • Responsible for entry and balancing of Ex-Pat assignment related adjustments

 

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel to give needed payroll information (i.e. vlookups, pivot tables etc.)
  • Running bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly reports for various divisions
  • Prepare payroll related journal entries in JD Edwards
  • Reconcile various general ledger payroll accounts
  • Ensure confidentiality of payroll information
  • Responsible for all month-end and year-end payroll activities and reconciliations (i.e. Records of Employment and W-2’s) and ensuring they are distributed accurately and on time
  • Responsible for annual government remittance reconciliations
  • Work with internal and external Auditors in payroll-related audits

 

Subject Matter Expert:

  • Support HR Leads with new acquisitions as it relates to payroll

Requirements

 

Education:

  • A post-secondary diploma in business, accounting/finance or equivalent business experience
  • American Payroll Association Certification at the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) level required

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands on working experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience working with other payroll systems considered an asset
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt and work in a flexible and changing global environment
  • Independent self-starter with ability to work to firm deadlines
  • Exceptional eye for detail with the ability to spot inaccuracies and errors
