Job Description

Scientific Products, an ATS Life Sciences Company is searching for a Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator, Europe.

This position can be based in either Mataro, Spain or Ipswich, England with travel expected to cover both sites’ requirements.

Responsible for coordinating, supporting and maintaining health, safety and environmental (HSE) programs at Scientific Products. Acts as an internal technical and administrative resource to provide team member training, support, and communications for divisional HSE committees and programs, and maintenance of divisional data systems for legislative and corporate HSE requirements. 

This is a hands-on role suitable for someone who enjoys delivery of training, direct participation in workplace inspections and implementation of new initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support divisional HSE Program requirements for legislative and corporate HSE standards, compliance, project HSE requirements and HSE continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices and mitigate hazardous conditions at the division.
  • Participate and support local managements teams in incident investigations
  • Support the Joint H&S Committee Program
  • Support HSE training requirements, including delivery of HSE training and maintaining records
  • Maintain HSE records in HSE software system including incident and near miss reporting, hazard reports, inspections and audits, corrective action completion and environmental data pertaining to waste and emissions, sustainability, and Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) reporting.
  • Maintain and support emergency preparedness and fire prevention procedures, documentation, emergency response team committee activities and communication requirements
  • Support requirements for ergonomic assessments, equipment specification and procurement, and ergonomic prevention training.
  • Evaluate divisional chemical hazards and provide technical support for safe work instructions.
  • Coordinate divisional hazardous waste management in accordance with legislative and corporate HSE requirements.
  • Support divisional health initiatives

 

Additional Information

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

•              College degree in an occupational health and safety related field and greater than four (4) years of directly related experience in manufacturing and occupational health and safety.

•              Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation programs and technical principles of occupational health and safety and environmental protection.

•              Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

•              Bilingual (read, write, speak) in English and Spanish is a requirement.

•              Experience with state/federal HSE requirements in both Spain and UK is an asset.

•              Regular travel between Ipswich, UK and Mataro, Spain is required.
