Job Description

This is a key role in the company, providing technical support and training and servicing for the full range of SP i-Dosi products supported from the SP i-Dosi Mataró-BN facility.  This support extends to internal teams across the world, end users and to the global distributor network. Service and technical training is included within the role, both at the i-Dosi facility and at customer sites; so international travel should be expected.

The employee will have experience of both on-site and remote technical support and experience of major equipment maintenance / repairs or come from a manufacturing environment within the SP group.  The employee will hold a relevant qualification in electrical/mechanical engineering, or a proven background and experience from within the SP service or manufacturing family. Great customer facing skills will be expected as well as good organisational skills and an ability to communicate at all levels.

This role will support new product introductions by helping to define service strategies. The role will be expected to contribute to the company’s Lean journey, both through proactive improvements and being part of team-based improvement events (kaizen). This will be focussed on the core deliverables of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, predominantly for the service organisation.

Key tasks

•    Lead on and assist the department manager in providing technical support to internal resource, the distributor network, and customers directly for i-Dosi manufactured products
•    Develop, plan and deliver technical and service training to both SP Service engineers and the global customer base.
•    Failure root cause analysis and counter-measure proposals will form part of this job function
•    Be skilled in the service of the company’s products.

Required Skills and Experience

•    5 years’ experience of a combination of field and remotely based customer facing technical support
•    Electro-mechanical maintenance, fault finding & repair within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
•    A good knowledge of Lean and 5S methodology 
•    General IT skills
•    Able to travel and communicate effectively on a global platform
•    A team player with the ability to work with and motivate colleagues across a wide range of disciplines.
•    Ability and character to work under pressure within tight deadlines
•    Capable of multi-tasking with the ability of flexible thinking
•    Good time management with an organised approach 
•    Understand technical components, drawings, specifications and processes
•    Ability to demonstrate effectiveness through creativity, development of ideas, implementation of plans and completion of projects to agreed standards.
•    Track record of achieving targets in terms of cost and time scales
