Manufacturing Supervisor

Seeking a self-driven highly motivated individual to join the ATS Chicago Assembly team as an Assembly Supervisor. The successfull individual will have strong decision making skills based on practical common sense approaches to priorities, team development, customer satisfaction, and process conformance. RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise the administration and delegation of work for team members within identified responsible manufacturing departments according to their skill and experience. 
  • Resolve and analyze any manufacturing or work-related problems by working closely with assigned personnel.
  • Oversee the training/rewarding of assigned personnel.
  • Coordinate closely with other Assembly Supervisors as well as the Assembly Manager or other WC managers or PM’s to achieve proper resource loading, joint efforts for improvement initiatives, shared discipline, or other duties.
  • Establish and maintain Daily Visual Management (DVM) for all personnel and on all projects to provide current status on completion of activities and performance to objectives and value drivers.
  • Establish and maintain individual metrics for all Assembly personnel to provide current status on individual performance to goals.
  • Cultivate talent through structured employee development plans, 1-on-1 employee meetings, and career pathing for all direct reports.
  • Work on their team’s motivation to achieve the team’s goals; Coordinate the teams activities and communicates with the assembly manager, other Team leads and manufacturing manager to avoid conflicts with other departments; communicate regularly to their team on issues pertaining to safety, manufacturing, quality, equipment or environment on shop floor.
  • Ensure the finished product meets established quality standards using all tools and procedures according to ISO13485 Compliance.
  • Deliver corrective action as required & complete performance appraisals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Accountable for the health and safety of employees under own supervision by ensuring that employees work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures and providing adequate training for employees in specific work tasks to help reduce or eliminate the risk of workplace injuries. 
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with ATS LS CHICAGO code of business conduct.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed in accordance to the ATS LS CHICAGO confidentiality policy.
  • Mentoring new and existing employees.
  • Maintain International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

Education:

  • Completion of a recognized technical or similar program through college or university or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an automation/manufacturing environment is preferred.  
  • A working knowledge of PC-based Microsoft applications for business is required.
  • Outstanding commitment level with a technical aptitude or background required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings and practices, electrical diagrams and schematics, pneumatics and general assembly procedures is essential.  
  • Must possess ability to work and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
