Continuous Improvement Engineer

The Continuous Improvement Engineer I is responsible for continuous improvement by applying Lean & 5S principles within a manufacturing operation. Using Kaizen and other Lean tools engaging all levels and functions of the organization to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Assist with implementing a lean strategy including lean principles, techniques and methodologies in line with corporate lean strategy to meet business goals.
  • Apply a wide range of lean, six sigma and industrial engineering methods and tools to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Assist in maintaining the company's lean implementation strategic plan.
  • Identify, plan and lead Kaizen events.
  • Instruct and coach lean six sigma topics in support of improvement projects.
  • Conducts root causes analysis to address specific process or quality problems.
  • Implements mistake-proofing controls to maintain or improve process quality.
  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOP’s), work instructions, and other quick reference material as needed.
  • Adhere to all International Standardization Organization (ISO) standards.
  • Full compliance to the terms and conditions within the employee signed work from home policy.
  • Follow all ATS Company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or closely related discipline preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred but not required. 
  • Six (6) months – two (2) years lean implementation experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of lean methodologies from the implementation standpoint that include: 5S, critical path method (CPM), standard work, quick changeover, material flow, value stream mapping, continuous improvement, process problem solving, etc.

 

 

OTHER:

 

  • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from the management viewpoint.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio.
  • Person must be hands-on and must be able to meet deadlines for his or her responsibilities.
