Machine Builder (multiple positions as various levels)

The Machine Builder assembles, debugs and installs entire machines and/or systems in a timely manner and meet customer requirements:

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Work under instruction of Production Team members to eventually fulfill the role of Machine Builder II.
  • Assemble all aspects of a machine or multi-system from drawings and/or verbal instructions. 
  • Rework critical machine components as required.
  • Use knowledge of pneumatic functions, devices and fittings, to achieve desired results.
  • Record changes to machine parts and assemblies on engineering drawings.
  • Provide information for machine technical documentation.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices.
  • Follow work instructions and maintain checklists.
  • Recommend improvements in order to facilitate company growth.
  • Travel 15%.

 

NOTE:  These requirements are for the Machine Builder Apprentice/Builder I roles.  More experienced Machine Builders are also needed.  Apply to this role and indicate your experience level.

QUALIFICATIONS:    

  • High school or trade school diploma.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Minimal experience in machine assembly, preferred.
  • Journeyman toolmaker or equivalent skills, preferred

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Able to stand and bend for long periods of time in a warehouse environment.
  • Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently. 
  • Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
  • Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions. 
  • Working Conditions – The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor. 
  • Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
