Job Description

 

As Legal Counsel you will be working onsite at our Winnenden facility, near Stuttgart, providing internal legal support and services to ATS’ European divisions, while reporting to ATS Automation’s Corporate Legal Department.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal services to internal clients principally in relation to customer and supplier contracts, corporate matters as well as litigation management.
  • Provide proactive and hands on negotiation support.
  • Analyze and process various legal issues from different jurisdictions; if necessary, with the involvement of external legal counsel.
  • Support the Vice President Legal in the execution of mergers and acquisitions and the subsequent post-merger integration.
  • Identify strategies to protect the company's interests and minimize legal exposure.
  • Conduct internal trainings on various operationally relevant legal topics.
  • Proactive in ensuring that all business activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with applicable laws and the ATS Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications

  • 1st and 2nd German Law Degree (Staatsexamen)
  • Several years of professional experience as a Legal Counsel in a business law firm or multinational industrial company are required.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, ideally acquired abroad; other foreign languages welcome however not required.
  • The individual must have exceptional interpersonal as well as intercultural communication and negotiation skills.
  • The individual must also have excellent commercial judgement and decision making ability. This includes a sound and analytical legal approach paired with an understanding of economic and technical contexts.
  • In addition the individual must possess strong drafting skills.
  • Travel will be required from time to time.
