Health and Safety Co-op

Job Description

• Work as a part of a team and participate in the deployment and/or improvements of new and existing programs and approaches to ensure compliance with legislation and company health and safety policies • Co-ordinate and participate in audit activities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement • Identify health and safety training needs, schedule and coordinate and conduct training • Attend and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, such as but not limited to inspections, meetings, and preparation of minutes as required • Assist with maintenance of HSE documents and ensure timely and accurate HSE record keeping • Maintain systems to effectively analyze injures and track safety performance • Support personnel in understanding, applying and adhering to Safe Work Practices and Procedures.

Additional Information

• Environmental experience/certification is an asset • Working knowledge of Provincial Health & Safety legislation and standards • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills with enthusiasm and a positive, results-focused attitude
