Our Automation team in our Wixom, MI location is currently looking for a bright, ambitious Senior PLC Engineer who enjoys team work and on-going challenging projects.
 

Job Description

We are looking for particular expertise with the following platforms:

PLC: Rockwell Allen Bradley, Siemens Step 7, Experience with other programs is a plus

DCS: SQL or equivalent   

    

Responsibilities:
•Implement established developed control scheme based on customer requirements
•Perform necessary duties for commissioning network communications to processors and periphery devices
•Perform duties to establish functional and stress testing of developed code
•Identify failure modes and corrective actions for reliability and recovery modes
•Perform point to point checks along with documentation for process tracking and improvements
•Follow corporate quality process and procedures, and ability to instill to others


Key attributes include:
•Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
•Capability in reading electrical/mechanical schematics
•Trouble shooting abilities for electrical systems
•Servo motor experience for trouble shooting mechanical and electrical loading
•Engineering Internship(s) and/or military experience a plus
•Control system interface networking/ PC networking
•Excellent communication skills
•Ability to work well in teams and independently
•Takes initiative, innovative, and has a attention to detail
•Ability to work effectively in fast paced multitasking environment with plant engineers, external vendors, operators and management to manage project and assignment


Employee Responsibilities (Health, Safety, & Environmental):
•Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
•Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
•Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
•Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
•Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix
•Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
•Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition
•Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees
•Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
 

Qualifications

Experience:

•Minimum three (5) years of experience involving software development and testing for process controls and related automation applications Required
•Capable of programming and integrating an entire machine from concept to completion without supervision
•Capable of Supervising multiple programmers on a project and enforcing code standards
•Experience in SQL or other relational databases is an asset
•Must be willing to travel to manufacturing/customer sites domestic and international
•Commissioning and start-up of control systems in the field required
•Machine level programming for Food & Beverage, Utilities, Bulk Manufacturing or Fill-Finish industries, Transportation, Pharmaceutical is required


Hardware & Software:
•PLC: Rockwell Allen Bradley, Siemens S7 or TIA Portal, Omron
•GCCS PLC/HMI programming experience or certification
•FAST PLC/HMI programming
•HMI Development
•DCS: SQL Server or other relational databases


Education:
•Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical or related technical discipline Required; Bachelor degree preferred.
•Equivalent industrial experience will be considered.
