Technical Training Specialist

Overview

 

The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for delivering high quality solutions/service training for Field Technicians, Builders, Programmers and/or customers. This role will function as an expert in providing technical support in the delivery of training programs to meet the skill competencies of the learners. The Technical Training Specialist will work with internal stakeholders to facilitate the planning and implementation of training, identify trends, assess needs, generate/distribute metrics, maintain procedures, monitor effectiveness, enable process improvement, and support activities for training compliance.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Partner with managers, process owners and subject matter experts to assess training needs for the functional area(s) of responsibility; assist in translating needs into training requirements/solutions.
  • Partner with various functional groups (e.g., Project Management, Operations, HR, etc.) to incorporate functional-based training programs into the role-based curriculums.
  • Develop and lead processes to ensure accurate role-based training is assigned and evaluated periodically.
  • Schedule orientation sessions and logistically plan for people, room, and technology resources.
  • Coordinate the certification training of new and current employees for equipment and processes to ensure proficiency and standardization of instruction methods.
  • Empower managers and process owners on their responsibilities within the training process, provide tools and resources to enable and sustain their success.
  • Communicate system issues affecting the business’ ability to conduct and/or document training to drive awareness and timely resolution.
  • Upgrade training programs’ course content on a regular basis to ensure alignment with operations.
  • Ensure processes remain in compliance with regulatory standards and quality requirements.
  • Collect and present on training performance metrics to leadership during periodic meetings and forums.
  • Generate and distribute training metrics/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), monitor progress, and take timely action to address adverse trends and deviations.
  • Maintain expertise on knowledge of service strategies, design engineering, installation, startup and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Perform additional duties and projects, as assigned.
     

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of experience in Industrial Automation or Automotive industries.
  • 2+ years of experience delivering and facilitating training for machinery organizations.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO 13485 regulations knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation techniques in both individual/1:1 and group settings.
  • Ability to influence management, business groups, and Subject Matter Expert (SME)’s toward a recommended thought or action.
  • Experience creating/distributing metrics reports.
  • Knowledge of training needs analysis, instructional/program design, development and evaluation, adult learning concepts and learning methodologies.
  • Prior experience working in project teams; formal problem-solving experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong sense of urgency; ability to work with minimal supervision and proactive and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Solid knowledge of process and quality requirements; technical machine build and process knowledge is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, & Excel.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, & understand English in a professional manner.
  • Strong initiative, innovative, and keen attention to detail.
  • Schedule flexibility to interact with all shifts, including overtime, is required
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; Experience working with customers to resolve problems.  
  • Must be eligible and able to travel domestically & internationally within 30 days from hire date and legally eligible to operate a vehicle, as this is an essential job function
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 35 lbs. without assistance and occasionally up to 50 lbs. following company safe lifting protocol.
