Service & Shop Technician

MAJOR DUTIES

 

Responsible for performing and coordinating in-house service/repair and re-calibration work through the department managers and shop supervisor and for ensuring the quality of fabrication work on service related matters. Working with customers directly to coordinate service/repair and re-calibration efforts, work to prepare  spare parts quotations, system spare parts lists, repeat orders. Quoting efforts for repairs, calibration and spare parts. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare quotations, process and project manage in-house service/repair and re-calibration work and spare parts as required or as assigned by the Applications department or Project Management.
  • Performing and completing re-calibration work.
  • Single point of contact between ATS Test and customer contact(s) for projects assigned.
  • Project manage service, re-calibration and spare part jobs as assigned.
  • Review, Process and kickoff customer purchase orders.  
  • Provide assistance for customers with respect to service requests. Start service sheets and delegate work to appropriate department.
  • Complete and review service reports prior to administration processing and invoicing.
  • Liaise with customers when necessary to obtain appropriate technical and administrative information.
  • Maintain and organize service, repair, re-calibration and job kitting shelves as required.
  • Pack and ship parts to customers.
  • Maintain and update a tracking logs and PAR reports as required.
  • Prepare and submit production, progress reports as required.
  • Provide updates to Management on Special and Service jobs.
  • Create requisitions of materials and supplies as required.
  • Check manufacturing and assembly drawings per ATS standards.
  • Ensures that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS code of business conduct.
  • Adhere to the ATS Test Systems ISO Operating Procedures, mission statement and core values.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:

A post-secondary education in electrical, electronics and mechanical fabrication with related practical work experience.  Planning and communication skills appropriate for the position.

Experience:

Five years’ hands-on experience associated with electrical, electronics and mechanical fabrication,  experience with automated test equipment or equivalent experience.  Good verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and pride in craftmanship and hands on abilities. Able to deal with customer expectations and other personnel.  Able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
