The role ensures that mechanical designs meet customer specifications, safety and regulatory requirements, project timelines, and quality standards, supporting commissioning, assembly, and lifecycle documentation.
The position operates in close coordination with Project Mgrs, Electrical and Automation Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical assemblies, machine modules, and complete machines using 3D and 2D CAD tools.
Define and implement mechanical design solutions compliant with customer specifications, internal standards, and regulated industry requirements.
Perform or support technical studies and calculations, coordinating with external specialized offices when necessary.
Ensure standardization, traceability, and continuous improvement of mechanical designs.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, such as drawings, bills of materials, layouts, design reports, validation and test documentation when required.
Ensure full traceability of design modifications and proper document lifecycle management through PDM/PLM/ERP systems.
Contribute to project test plans and support validation activities where applicable.
Provide technical support to workshop assembly, machine adjustments, installation and commissioning activities.
Support resolution of design non conformities or technical issues identified during assembly or testing.
Collaborate with commissioning and service teams to ensure a smooth handover from design to operation.
Education & Training
Technical diploma, bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or mechatronic engineering.
Experience
2+ years of experience in mechanical design of industrial or automated machinery.
Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, radio pharma, or regulated environments is highly valued.
Experience with aseptic technologies, CIP/SIP systems, and precision mechanics is considered a strong advantage.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Proficiency in 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, Solid Edge or equivalent).
Good knowledge of 2D drafting tools (AutoCAD, DraftSight).
Experience working with PDM / PLM systems, ERP tools, structured documentation workflows.
Solid understanding of precision mechanical design, materials and surface finishes, motion systems, pneumatics, and mechanical standards.
Knowledge and experience with a wide range of manufacturing and forming processes, such as injection moulding, machining, 3D printing / additive manufacturing, laminating / composite manufacturing, vacuum forming, extrusion, bending / forming processes
Language & Mobility
Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
Availability to travel occasionally for project, supplier, or site support activities.
Additional languages are considered a plus.
Personal Skills
