Shipping/Receiving Coordinator

As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shipping/Receiving Coordinator to join our team.

 

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Health and Safety:

  • Follow all Company Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the safety requirements of our customers where applicable. Immediate reporting of any safety violations or concerns.
  • Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met with regards to loss prevention, accident investigation, OSHA compliance. 
  • Works with team members to actively improve safety of the facility.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.
  • Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and timely.
  • Ensure material storage containers and locations are safe without risk of causing an injury through proper organization and development of storage areas.

 

Quality:

  • Follow SOPs and ensure all products are of the highest quality.
  • Assists management in development of quality processes and work instructions.
  • Work with team members to identify root cause to failures and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Works in accordance with product specification to ensure minimization of defects. Fixes defects and reports issues if occurs.
  • Ensure all non-conforming materials follow the non-conforming process and are properly designated in the ERP system.
  • Responsible for performing incoming inspections against documented quality procedures.  

 

Productivity:

  • This position is responsible for the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments within NCC Automated System. This includes but is not limited to the communication of shipments within our teams, to our customers, and suppliers; receipts, organization, and put away of materials; incoming inspection; and picking, packing, and shipping of spare parts.
  • Coordinate Inbound and Outbound Shipments: Manage the communication of shipments within NCC Automated System, including coordination with internal teams, customers, and suppliers. Handle receipts, organization, and put-away of materials, incoming inspections, and the picking, packing, and shipping of spare parts.
  • Raw Material Management: Perform general housekeeping, deliver raw materials to designated inventory locations, and ensure proper put-away of raw materials. Maintain and organize the dock and inventory areas, ensuring raw material inventory locations are adequately stocked.
  • Incoming Inspection: Perform incoming inspections to ensure all products received match the required specifications.
  • Communication: Notify purchasing, inventory, and production teams of incoming product deliveries.
  • Order Fulfillment: Work to complete orders according to required delivery dates and schedules.
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance: Perform general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the dock and inventory areas. This includes hands-on cleaning and maintenance, as well as coordinating with other departments.
  • Material Preparation: Pick, pack, kit, and prepare materials for shipment.
  • Documentation and Processing: Document and process order shipments to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments and orders.
  • Freight Coordination: Coordinate outbound freight shipments with various carriers using shipping portals.
  • Shipping Requirements: Understand and comply with shipping requirements for both domestic and international deliveries.
  • Product Packing: Pack finished products for shipment and properly label products and pallets according to specifications.
  • Forklift and Pallet Jack Operation: Proficiently handle pallets with a forklift and pallet jacks within the warehouse and onto freight trailers.
  • Vehicle Operation: Occasionally drive company trucks/vehicles to pick up and drop off materials.
  • Software Utilization: Use UPS/FedEx software for summary reporting upon request.
  • Team Assistance: Provide support to team members as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participates in ABM initiatives and activities. (5S events, Kaizen events, weekly CIP meetings, problem solving, improvement projects, etc.)
  • Work with team members to provide input to improve process and workspaces.
  • Provide feedback to your supervisor for process improvement ideas.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years working in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years working within a shipping or receiving role.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 1+ years working in ERP system
  • Experience working in shipping software such as World ship/3PL portals
  • Strong communication skills
  • Continuous Improvement Experience or Certifications Preferred (Lean or Six Sigma)
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team; initiative
  • Flexible work hours when required
  • Detail oriented and ability to make sound judgments
  • Confidentiality; professionalism

  • This position is based between office, production, and warehouse areas with occasional offsite or outdoor settings, as required.
  • Occasional exposure to local outdoor weather conditions which may range from 10 degrees and up to 100 degrees (Fahrenheit) for entering and leaving Company facility.
  • The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate
  • This position primarily operates in a typical office environment where the employee will encounter average indoor conditions and noise
  • Occasional exposure to typical production environments that may or may not be climate controlled and may be exposed to areas that require use of personnel protective equipment
