Controls Field Service Technician

Job Description

Essential Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the industrial equipment manufactured by the Comecer Group at customer sites 
  • Provide remote technical support by telephone and online when practical
  • Diagnose and address equipment issues
  • Interpret mechanical drawings as well as electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Demonstrate equipment operation & analyze malfunctions
  • Advise management on customer satisfaction & product performance; make suggestions for improvement
  • Serve as a support engineer to customers for Controls Engineering issues 
  • Ship and receive customer orders, stock shipments, and installation equipment
  • Order and track spare parts and consumables inventory 
  • Organize user manuals, recommended spare parts lists, and technical documentation related to the installed equipment 
  • Utilize internal FUSION software to create and track machine issues using service tickets
  • Create work reports and other service documentation and update internal records using FUSION
     
Additional Information

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:       

  • Industrial Technical diploma with Mechanical / Electrical emphasis or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in a hands-on Controls-focused Service Technician role
  • Well versed with debugging and programming adjustments to Comecer equipment; Siemens and Rockwell PLCs/HMIs, PCs, and other controls software utilized in Comecer solutions
  • Aptitude to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Familiar with NEC & NFPA 79 & international electrical standards
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults on industrial equipment using appropriate instrumentation and controls interfaces
  • Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with JD Edwards preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% both domestically and internationally
  • Must be eligible and able to travel domestically & internationally within 30 days from hire date, as this is an essential job function
  • Ability to read, speak, write, & understand English in a professional matter
