Project Engineer

Job Description

Required Duties

*Job Location: Brampton, ON, Canada*

Must be able to work in a professional engineering team-based environment. Project Engineers are responsible for the concepting and technical project guidance of automated tooling systems to meet customer manufacturing requirements.

Duties may include and are not limited to detailed mechanical design oversight, process development, process validation, onsite support, internal/external training, customer management, procurement activities, and developing and maintaining corporate dashboards. This position may require 25% travel. The engineer is required to support the install of the machinery on the customer’s floor as required.

The following lists are general responsibilities that may vary from customer to customer. 

Automation skills

Basic knowledge of designing integrated tooling systems and testing automated machinery in a virtual environment.

Mechanical design skills

•Machine building concepts
•2D Drafting
•3D modeling
•Machining tolerances
•AutoCAD

Software Skills

•Microsoft Excel
•Microsoft Word
•Excel 

Additional Information

Experience Required:

•Three to seven years of experience is similar role.  

Education:

•BS (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering)

Responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

•Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures
•Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
•Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts 
•Report defect in any equipment or protective device
•Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
•Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training
•Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
•Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
•Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct
