Project Manager

Project Manager

Project Manager (PM) responsibilities include the full lifecycle of Project Management for one or more Systems Integration related systems projects. The PM will be accountable for delivering projects on time and within budget while producing exceptional results and a high level of customer satisfaction. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure timely completion within budget. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and designating project resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and ensuring timely and accurate communications with stakeholders.   The Project Manager will handle multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to promote a positive customer relationship to create a good basis for future projects, while ensuring the success of Process Automation Solutions.
   
Essential Job Functions: 

•    Bid to complete engagement and ownership per project management workflow.
•    Determine and define project scope and objectives.
•    Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
•    Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
•    Develop and manage a detailed project oversight, including but not limited to, project schedule, staffing plans, materials workflow (e.g., quotes, purchase order requisitions, bidding, procurement, etc.).
•    Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
•    Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
•    Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution, monitoring project progress, making adjustments as needed.
•    Assist the Technical Lead with the preparation of deliverable where applicable.
•    Drive regular internal and external progress meetings and prepare detailed project reports.
•    Conduct internal and external project reviews following defined policies and procedures.
•    Understand, manage, and mitigate risk associated with assigned projects.
•    Negotiate and manage change orders for assigned projects.
•    Effectively collaborate with internal departments, including Operations, Finance, Sales, and Human Resources.
•    Coordinate with Team Leads to identify scope creep and address/communicate with customer accordingly.
•    Coordinate with Operations to properly staff projects.
•    Identify project execution issues and coordinate with Operations for continuous improvement.
•    Identify project quality issues/risks and coordinate with both Quality and Operations for corrective action.
•    Be a part of the account management for certain customers to identify new projects and assist with the estimate/proposal process.
•    Perform regular quality checks of assigned projects.
•    Manage projects in person at office or customer site location, as needed.
•    Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. 
•    Create a high-performance culture by setting high expectations, empowering the team, providing coaching/feedback, and reviewing performance to ensure the highest performance standards. 
•    Demonstrate leadership in Health & Safety compliance and drive a safe working culture.

Additional Information

Required Qualifications:
•    Associate’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, industrial engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience
•    Four years’ experience managing multiple small (<$200k) Automation and/or Manufacturing IT (e.g. Data Historian) projects.
•    Knowledge of computer systems integration project methodologies and standards.
•    Relevant project experience with manufacturing data management and automation system integration, design, and deployment.
•    Ability to recognize, communicate, and mitigate project risk.
•    Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, industrial engineering.
•    Project Management Professional (PMP).

Responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment:

•    Work in compliance with divisional health, safety, and environmental procedures.
•    Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods.
•    Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts. 
•    Report defects in any equipment or protective device.
•    Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks.
•    Attend all required health, safety, and environmental training.
•    Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor.
•    Assist in investigating accidents/incidents.
•    Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.

Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to travel up to 25%; or as needed.
    Sitting for extended periods of time at a desk or table.
    Working on computer and related peripherals 90% of the time.
    Hearing and speaking to exchange information to work with team members and clients – in person, on the phone, or via virtual calls.
    Seeing to read and write, exchange emails, conduct work, and prepare documents and reports.
