Associate Technician - Systems Integration
Job Description
Major Duties:
Mechanical/Electrical assembly/teardown of Industrial Machinery in a safe, timely, organized, and quality focused manner. Will build, repair, adjust, install and service equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble basic to moderate mechanical/electrical components per supplied mechanical/electrical drawings
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical/pneumatic/electrical problems and implement solutions
- Create simple but accurate mechanical/electrical sketches, mark modifications onto existing drawings
- Ability to use instruments to measure voltage, amps, etc.
- Ability to wire electrical panels based of electrical diagrams
- Machine mechanical components using conventional machine tools including lathe, mills, and drills, using a tapping unit, and utilizing dimensional layout
- Perform intermediate measurement skills such as indicator and micrometer
- Determine what pneumatic components are required and assemble per pneumatic diagrams which include tubing identification, interpretation of pneumatic diagrams, wiring/tubing routing, and set up of pneumatic flow controls
- Assist engineering with machine and component design by contributing ideas for the resolution of design problems in a constructive manner
- Utilize Bill of Material structure and use all internal resources to determine parts required, status of parts and manufacturer’s part numbers
- Troubleshoot and de-bug equipment (modify, re-machine, re-assemble)
- Inspect incoming manufactured parts for quality and conformance to print
- Mounting and wiring of electrical components
- Perform critical machine alignments to ensure product specifications are met
- Fabricate prototype/ rework mechanical parts using machine shop tools as required
- Report daily progress of assigned activities
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in installation activities of mechanical projects, applying knowledge of mechanical codes and procedures while adhering to customer and project specifications
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
- Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with all Health, Safety and Environment directives
- Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials, and protective devices are used and maintained in safe condition
- Maintain housekeeping standards in shop and field work areas
- Safely operate hand tools (screwdrivers, hacksaws, pliers, measuring tools, etc.)
- Safely operate power tools (drill, grinder, reciprocating saw, conduit threader, etc.)
- Safely operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, man lift, etc.)
- Climb ladders and work in elevated environments, following applicable tie-off procedures
- Travel to customer sites as required by project
- Work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by project
Additional Information
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or equivalent vocational training
- One to three years of related experience
