Web Developer - WordPress

Job Responsibilities

We are actively seeking an experienced WordPress Developer with a primary focus on GitHub-integrated web development .This role places a significant emphasis on backend and frontend development, specifically in supporting WordPress website, plugins, and migrations. Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and working with database technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL is essential.

What you will do:

Exposure to business stakeholders and management

· Experience in eliciting business owner/user requirements and able to develop an execution plan to delivery

· Collaborating with web agencies and vendors to ensure successful delivery of new website builds and executing migrations onto our WordPress VIP platform.

· Overseeing a portfolio of websites on the WordPress VIP platform, ensuring optimal performance and functionality.

· Integrating website analytics and Adobe font technologies into both new and existing websites.

· Strong understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards.

· Strong expertise with web applications, database technologies and programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, web services (REST/SOAP), Python, Ruby, PHP, Powershell, XML, database technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL, and working with plugins & API's.

· Basic understanding of integration to other products API’s such as SalesForce, Pardot (Account Engagement), Mulesoft Enterprise Service Bus.

· Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply in regard to compliance for Web and E-Commerce applications.

· Knowledge of web server technologies and platform infrastructures is an asset (e.g. IIS, Apache, Nginx)

· Experience integrating various forms of digital media (videos, webcasts, images, PDFs) into websites

· Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices

· Create and maintain software documentation

What you will Need:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of industry trends and possess hands-on experience with content management systems and block editors (Gutenberg). 

Strong familiarity with Git/GitHub is a key requirement, showcasing your ability to collaborate and manage version control effectively across several environments.

Expertise in responsive and adaptive design is required, combined with an intimate understanding on the technical aspects of WordPress development. 

A comprehensive grasp of the entire web development process, from design to deployment, is preferred.

Must Haves:

Education & Certification

· College diploma or University degree in a software development discipline

· 3+ years of Web Development experience

· Relevant product & technology certifications

Knowledge & Experience

· Deep expertise and hands-on experience with APIs, CSS, cross-browser compatibility, e-commerce, GitHub/Git, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, object-oriented programming & design, PHP, Powershell, Python, responsive web design, Ruby, security principles, web front-end frameworks, web services (REST/SOAP), user interface design (UI), XML

· Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MariaDB and PostgreSQL is essential

· Expertise in working with production and staging development environments, utilizing GitHub/Git (WordPress VIP platform.

· Hands-on experience with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), website analytics and web forms

· Proficient in website privacy and compliance (GDPR)
