OVERVIEW
ATS Corporation is looking for an experienced Category Manager to develop and implement supplier and category sourcing strategies and solutions, while actively managing and enhancing existing key global stakeholder relationships.
This role will communicate, evaluate and negotiate with external suppliers and ascertain their ability to meet ATS requirements and overall objectives. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the industry and supply market, and have strong communication skills in order to forge and maintain vendor relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for the overall strategy and relationship with vendors globally
• Owns the overall assigned ATS Material spend and is responsible to achieve savings in line with business objectives
• Devise & implement a category acquisition strategy
• Communicate with, evaluate and approve vendors to ascertain their ability to meet company requirements, goals and objectives.
• Negotiate framework agreements with suppliers which may include pricing, credit terms, discounts, rebates and other general terms, applicable across multiple projects.
• Perform on-going review of product, service, equipment and expense usage to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
• The Category Manager –will focus in performing data analysis to find opportunities and drive change in all aspects which will improve material costs, such as supplier selection, elimination of high cost components/suppliers. Perform an effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure best pricing for ATS.
• Be the single point of contact for all new difficult and unusual issues that may arise, ensuring that ownership and accountability are clearly established and communicated
• Be knowledgeable of the industry, suppliers’ business and the supply market overall
• Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.
• Select vendors to use in ATS divisions, based on requirements and business considerations.
• Lead & participate in Workshops to drive tangible cost savings working with ATS segments and ATS Corporate
• Evaluate and deploy a suitable buying processes for material in North America and globally
• Support VP Global Supply Chain North America and Senior Manager, Category Management on gathering data and preparing reports / presentations for upper managements.
• Develop category strategies (vision, strategic objectives, and action) to govern actions and decisions towards a better ATS business
• Adhere to all ISO procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree in a purchasing related field, business management, engineering, or equivalent discipline. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of sourcing and project management experience in a custom manufacturing environment.
- Proven capability to develop and apply sourcing strategies to drive long term business improvement.
- Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office software.
- Ability to effectively manage large data files derived from ERP systems.
- Proven negotiation and commercial capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interact in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

The Compensation offered will be based on the local job market and may vary depending on factors such as the job-related knowledge, skills, experience of the selected candidate, as well as other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
