We are seeking a data-driven and solutions-oriented Demand and Inventory Planning Specialist to support our Parts Services strategy with effective inventory plans that help grow our sales. This role partners with cross-functional teams to identify trends, evaluate business opportunities to make strategic investments in inventory, and ensure that inventory is tightly managed to minimize obsolescence and maximize accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily communication with the Front-End Parts Specialists team and Business Analysts, to understand spare parts forecasting requirements for various customers.
- Provide input and recommendations for monthly forecast reviews.
- Plan inventory flow, analyze statistical data, and generate forecasting solutions to ensure our warehouses are stocked with the right products.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers (ex. Product reliability, past RMA data).
- Ensure system updates are conducted to provide accurate planning for purchasing activities (evaluating re-order points and safety stock levels as necessary).
- Analyze and communicate part availability to determine potential impacts on customer’s spare parts orders.
- Work with the Spares Warehouses to coordinate regular cycle counts, and develop ERP processes, information flows and work instructions.
- Work closely with the Spares Warehouses to understand root cause and drive corrective action and resolution with respect to inventory issues.
- Coordinate with Finance, Project Management, Quality and Supply Chain personnel to ensure procedural issues for inventory management are understood and followed.
- Work with Finance to analyze and adjust inventory as required within JD Edwards.
- Weekly review of system generated inventory reports to identify inconsistencies such as negative location counts, WIP levels and on hand dollar balances.
- Weekly reporting of inventory KPIs.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in demand forecasting, materials management or supply chain environment using MRPII/ERP software (preference will be given to those with JD Edwards experience).
- Post-secondary education in the field of Materials Management or Business Administration
- CPIM or CSCP Certification preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to co-ordinate and prioritize tasks and assignments and demonstrate attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Lean & Continuous Improvement concepts, tools and methodology.
- Bonus points for JIRA and Oracle Service Cloud experience.
- Basic understanding of statistical and forecasting methods to support analysis of demand, consumption trends, and inventory planning.
- Familiarity with business process mapping and workflow documentation to support process improvement initiatives.
- Experience or familiarity with JD Edwards (JDE) ERP system is considered an asset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

The Compensation offered will be based on the local job market and may vary depending on factors such as the job-related knowledge, skills, experience of the selected candidate, as well as other objective business considerations.
