Position Title: Engineering Coordinator Co-op

Department: Mechanical Engineering

Reports To: Team Lead, Engineering Support

Duration: 4 months (September – December)

Location: Cambridge, ON (Onsite)

Range: $20.44 - $30.43

Job Description

Job Summary: 

 

This individual will work with the ATS Engineering team to assist with developing of data gathering and analysis tool for all Engineering KPIs, outsourcing detailing, and validating final documentation packages.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Under the direction of Team Lead, prepare detailing packages for outsourcing.
  • Upload all received detailed packages into Upchain PLM
  • Work with design engineers to identify any errors in the received outsourcing packages.
  • Be responsible for accuracy of department Jira dashboards (outsourcing, helpdesk)
  • Review and interpret customer drawing specifications and validate drawings as per ATS and/or customer standards.
  • Perform minor drawings additions/revisions as related to drawing conversions.
  • Liaise with Mechanical designers to solve major drawing errors.
  • Work with Engineering Documentation Coordinator to develop business tools aimed at streamlining how we gather, analysis and publish weekly and monthly engineering metrics.
  • Work with Engineering leads to implement tool.
  • Gather and publish data on a weekly basis for all engineering teams.
  • Find patterns in data by analyzing trends to highlight where the biggest issues arrive.

 

Education:

  • Working towards a post-secondary degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Business, or Computer Science program; Successful completion of at least 2 semesters preferred.

 

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of mechanical drafting, material in mechanical design and machine tools.
  • Exposure to tolerancing in mechanical design
  • Experience working in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Excel/Word, database environments.
  • Experience/exposure to Jira ticketing system is an asset.
  • An understanding of Business Development and Project Management, encompassing both excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Displays strong attention to detail and competencies in relationship management, collaboration, and time management.
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment both in a team and independently, able to adapt to dynamic situations, and can impact and influence outcomes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to provide clear and concise project documentation, reports, and project updates to relevant stakeholders.
