Procurement Specialist - Outsourcing

Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead - Outsourcing, the Procurement Specialist – Outsourcing will work with Divisional stakeholders to identify and execute optimal sourcing solutions that will enable growth and increase overall gross margin for Cambridge Life Sciences (cLS). The Procurement Specialist - Outsourcing will also be involved in Purchase Order management – confirmations, expediting, problem resolution and processing NCR’s.

 

Responsibilities Include:

· Work closely with the Procurement Team Leader – Outsourcing to source outsourced sub-assembly solutions.

· Process purchasing documentation (i.e., Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Cancellation Forms, and non-conforming product) in accordance with ATS policies and procedures.

· Leverage the Global Supply Chain Team specialized knowledge in category management and VAVE to lower costs for cLS.

· Develop outsourcing strategies and implement solutions to facilitate improved delivery, inventory plays, cost optimization, transaction reduction

· Support engineering standardization initiatives

· Execute the RFQ process / make-buy analysis / supplier selection criteria.

· Along with the Supplier Development Specialist, maintain ongoing supplier relationships and performance monitoring. Identify supplier performance risks in order to develop and implement mitigation strategies.

· Provide support and input throughout the design process.

o Engage preferred sub-contractors as applicable.

o Provide direct input.

o Identify and recommend optimal cost / schedule improvement options.

o Attend applicable internal design reviews.

· Award business.

o Lead ongoing status reviews with contract manufacturers.

o Manage Pre-shipment approvals

o Manage revision requests.

o Manage non-conformances.

· Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.

· Maintain favorable Terms and Conditions for ATS

Qualifications

Education:

· A post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Equivalent Experience

 

Experience:

· Minimum 3 years' experience in Assembly Operations

· Minimum 3 years related experience in Supply Chain Management (preferred)

· Advanced knowledge of MS Office software including Excel - pivot tables & VLOOKUP + Power Point - presentations

· The ability to interpret engineering drawings is a requirement for this position.

· Proven organizational and negotiation skills.

· Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

· Demonstrated problem solving and continuous improvement skills

· Demonstrated ability to interact in a team environment.

· Demonstrated ability to contribute on a cross functional team

· Proven data driven decision making
