Quality Leader

Job Description

 

ROLE SUMMARY:

This position reports into the Operations Manager, ATS Products Group (APG), a division of the Products and Food Technology segment.  This motivated individual, who is a proactive self-starter, will have the opportunity to work within a “start-up” like environment establishing the Quality Management System (QMS) that supports our product type manufacturing.  The Quality Leader will be the go-to resource for the development and implementation of our ISO 9001-2015 QMS and have the opportunity to grow the supporting quality department.  

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•    Lead the development and implementation of the Quality Management System in accordance to ISO 9001-2015 standards
•    Monitor and ensure compliance to ISO policies and procedures
•    Assist in investigation of product/process quality and production issues and help develop and initiate preventative and corrective actions
•    Main point of contact for all customer 
•    Responsible for verification and tracking of Process, ISO, RCCA, and/or SCAR requests
•    Evaluate procedural changes and approve/post document changes
•    Ensure deviation process is followed if parts or assemblies do not conform to customer specifications
•    Prepare Control Plans, and support update of Procedures or Checklists as applicable.
•    Participate or lead external audits with vendors
•    Conduct internal product, process, and procedure compliance audits, as appropriate.

 

Experience:
•    Five (5) years’ experience in a products based, repetitive manufacturing environment 
•    Working knowledge of ISO requirements – 9001-2015
•    Must possess excellent communication skills
•    Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office necessary.
•    Training in GDP and GMP
•    Knowledge of SPC (statistical process controls an asset).
•    Knowledge of blueprint reading and basic GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing).
•    Must be able to use measuring equipment such as Vernier / Micrometers, Optical Comparator, etc.


 

Education:
•    Post-secondary graduate with an Engineering, Technologist or Quality designation. 
•    Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles & continuous improvement
