Total Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay Rate: $84,000-$115,500 per annum
- Eligible for Annual Incentive Bonus

MAJOR DUTIES
The Senior Technical Quality Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of the Business and Quality Management System and supporting internal and external operations. This includes standardizing quality business processes by recognizing opportunities for correction/improvement, measurement system analysis, data collection and analysis to potential causes, generating improvement solutions by establishing and standardizing controls to the causes of the problem and communicating ownership back to the process owner.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures.
- Assist process owners in the interpretation of quality, technical performance and business requirements. Develop, recommend and facilitate implementation changes to workflow; improve quality management system, review operational performance and provide solutions.
- Support the deployment of ISO 9001, N299.1, NQA/N285 program and perform audits with associated RCCA activities.
- Inspection of incoming parts and associated supplier documentation.
- Review incoming unqualified/qualified source material for compliance with the Purchase Order and code requirements
- Analyze and prepare statistical data to determine capability of processes and measurement systems.
- Analyze test data as evidence to the degree of compliance to customer specifications.
- Investigate product/process/system quality issues, develop and initiate improvement, preventative actions and/or corrective actions.
- Conduct internal and external process compliance investigations/audits.
- Act as a mentor by cultivating a network of experts in the workplace.
- Provide formal training and coaching to local personnel in new strategies and tools.
- Support the deployment strategy for connecting suppliers to the factory, Kanban/pull signals for replenishment in conjunction with material planning.
- Perform supplier certification, process and product audits.
- Facilitate supplier quality issues to ensure on time delivery to field and reduce loss time manufacturing.
- Develop and facilitate Supplier Quality Improvement Plans as appropriate.
- Measure progress on process improvement opportunities.
- Determine and establish elements of the design for quality and reliability program for hardware and manufacturing. Work with process owners in integration, hardware and materials to implement these elements as part of the product development process.
- Act as the customer advocate during the product development and production phases of the life cycle.
- Facilitate Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) in conjunction with Engineering.
- Perform product investigations and facilitate RCCA activities.
- Responsible for verification and tracking of Process/ISO RCCA requests.
- Support Applications in project quoting as required.
- Conduct process capability and gauge repeatability and reliability studies on manufactured equipment.
- Prepare nuclear ATP’s, Product Quality and Control Plans and associated procedures.
- Complete Pre FATs to ensure customer requirements have been achieved.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- A post-secondary technology diploma or equivalent, specializing in toolmaking, machining, welding or mechanical engineering, mechanical technologist, quality engineering or equivalent work experience is required
- ASQ CQT, (an asset)
- RAB accredited training
Experience/Requirements:
- A minimum of 8 years of quality assurance experience is required.
- NDE or welding certification (preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with: plating, NDE, welding, heat treating, painting
- The ability to analyze and solve problems is essential.
- The ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organization, both orally and in writing is required.
- Working knowledge and experience working with ISO 9001, N299.1, 10CFR50, 10CFR21, N285, N286, B51 and ASME Section III guidelines.
- Ability to operate and program a CMM (an asset)
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Strong problem solving ability.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Intermediate data analysis skills
- Capable of being certified to Jaeger-1 Test Chart and Bausch and Lomb Vision test (including color and far- and near-distance test)
- Ability to read detail drawings and assembly drawings as well as have understanding of GD&T
- Intermediate computer skills

The compensation offered will be based on the local job market and may vary depending on factors such as the job-related knowledge, skills, experience of the selected candidate, as well as other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
