Location:     Preferred in Italy (Parma / Bologna Region)

 

Description:

The ideal candidate will be a change agent and facilitator to get ABM rapidly launched and installed in a series of new acquisitions, with a particular focus on Europe for the newly established Products & Food Technology segment of ATS.  This will include a clear focus on Italy in the first 12 months, across a segment that accounts for >$400M CAD revenue, and over 1000 employees.  This will require expert knowledge of KPI’s/measurement systems; Daily Visual Management; Problem Solving; Kaizen Funnel; and multiple Kaizen Executions across all facets of a business. A successful candidate will be responsible for training, facilitating, and guiding the Business Units to implement the ABM toolkit to help drive the 8 Value Drivers of the business, and prioritize work based on needs and impact across business.

 

Responsibilities:

•    Drive ever-improving results by leveraging ATS Business Model tools, influencing and consulting skills, and change management processes. 
•    Provide support for successful integration(s) of newly acquired businesses to the ATS portfolio.
•    Assist ATS Europe ABM leadership in the development and execution of a ATS Business Model roadmap at ATS – with a focus on our growing footprint in Italy.
•    Directly provide formal and informal ATS Business Model training and coaching 
•    Ensure productive kaizen events with measurable improvements for the business.
•    Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business, and provide expert counsel on appropriate tools to eliminate them 
•    Promote and facilitate associate development in various ATS Business Model tools, transactional improvements, and kaizen leadership 
•    Benchmark and incorporate best practices from global ATS Businesses.
•    Assist in achieving the Goal Deployment and Strategic Plan objectives related to ATS Automation Europe.

 

Locations: 
Parma, Italy (focus); with willingness to travel 25-35% (likely locations include Bergamo,Italy; Spain; Germany; and the United Kingdom.  
 

Qualifications

Education:

A four-year Engineering degree or equivalent is required, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering is preferred.  

 

Experience:    

•    7-10+ years of Operations, Engineering, Transactional Continuous Improvement experience 
•    International business experience 
•    Demonstrated ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations from a “general manager’s” point of view 
•    Mastery of a variety of ATS Business Model (lean) tools (or six sigma or equivalent continuous improvement tools) and willingness to “roll up sleeves” and support implementing in the business. 
•    Superior communications skills including being able to communicate to all levels of the organization including those where English is not their primary language (fluency in Italian and English required) 
•    Superior training skills and adult learning theory 
•    Superior consulting/influencing skills – can help direct and influence others without direct reporting lines.
•    Ability to work with leadership to develop a roadmap, with  
•    Hands-on experience implementing continuous improvements (ATS Business Model), including Transactional Process Improvements 
•    Exposure to and participation in a wide variety of training environments 
•    Good writing and administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.) 
•    Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
