Quality Manager

ATS Scientific Products is looking for a passionate, driven, and creative quality leader to take the ATS to join the team.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process development, quality, and regulatory systems, will be a team builder, and will thrive on building relationships both internally and externally. This leader must thrive on challenging the status-quo, and have a passion for designing, leading, and implementing cross-functional/ process improvements.

 

This leader’s primary responsibility will be comprised of supervising both inbound and outbound inspection processes, quality engineering functions, and managing the corrective action process and non-conformance processes.  In addition, this individual will supervise a team of individuals in the final test department, insuring all machines are properly inspected prior to shipment. This leader will also coordinate with the field service teams to evaluate and enhance the overall quality of ATS SP Equipment.   This leader should be able to positively manage a skilled workforce by focusing on talent development and succession planning. Most importantly, this candidate must create a culture that embraces change and focuses on continuous operational and process improvements that further enhance the customer experience with SP’s products and services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Approve product acceptance testing, development and implementation of quality plans, and other administrative technical matters.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures and controls across multiple sites
  • Work directly with manufacturing and research and development to develop systems to test and inspect new products or processes
  • Perform internal audits or products and procedures and take corrective action as needed.
  • Manage/maintain compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Identify and implement best practices to optimize product quality, improve efficiency, and maintain compliance
  • Supervision of inbound inspection personal for vendor and customer provided products
  • Supervision of Final Test department and Quality Engineers in two manufacturing facilities
  • Manage staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and improve staff

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • 5+ years quality or related work experience required
  • Previous experience in evaluating, implementing and maintaining quality processes required
  • Strong analytics and structured problem solving experience

 

EDUCATION:

  • B.S. or equivalent work experience, or combination of education and experience required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is normally performed in both the office and the shop.
  • The office environment is an interior office with air conditioning.
  • The shop contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
  • The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
  • The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.
  • Some shop processes use high voltage arcs or concentrated magnetic fields.
  • The shop contains open flames and caustic chemicals.
  • Some areas of the shop may be designated as hard hat zones.

It is the responsibility of each manager to ensure that employees receive regular training regarding health, safety and environmental matters.  Each manager is also accountable to ensure that HSE matters are addressed in a timely manner and that compliance with both legislative and corporate requirements are maintained.

 

Manager responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
  • Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
  • Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
  • Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
  • Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix
  • Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
  • Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition
  • Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees 
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees

Salary Range - $85/K - $95/K
