BioDot is uniquely focused on the specialized requirements of Rapid Test / BioSensor / Lyophilization and Clinical Laboratory development and manufacturing environments. We have several standard product lines and custom automated systems to meet the needs of these markets. BioDot is currently experiencing growth and we currently have the immediate need for a Business Development Specialist to work out of our Irvine, CA Office.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing relationships with potential BioDot customers in North America. They will demonstrate a degree of technical knowledge related to low volume liquid handling as well as a commercial understanding of the industry and its drivers. The candidate will work cross functionally with marketing and sales to develop leads into opportunities and to manage the sales funnel. This role will be focused on the North America liquid handling market. It is envisaged that eventually this role will develop into the incumbent having their own territory to manage, so a willingness to travel overseas is a must.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify top target customers within key industries
• Research and identify emerging markets and geographies
• Educate target customers and present BioDots Technology to potential customers
• Develop long term funnel for future bookings
• Develop key relationships End Users, Academic and Industrial
• Connect sales team with 25 high potential accounts per quarter (expected sales in <= 6 months)
• Identify high value beta customers for new technologies and product releases
• Develop and launch customer acquisition strategies
• Attend trade shows and industry conferences
• Build sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with customers through technical and business expertise
• Presentation of solutions that suit customer’s applications and demonstrate Value Proposition and ROI
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
• Needs to work collaboratively with other members of the international sales team.
• Ensure that all progress and updates on work are logged into system tools such as CRM, Share point, etc.
Additional Information
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum undergraduate degree in business or the sciences.
• Experience maintaining CRM territory management tools.
• Experience with automated liquid handling platforms preferred.
• Experience selling into Laboratory and/or Manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of life science applications is preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude desired with the ability to convey technical details to non-technical individuals.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Project planning and reporting skills.
• Moderate computer literacy needed with Microsoft Suite (Word, PPT, Excel) proficiency required.
• Should be able to demonstrate organizational skills managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent follow-up necessary being able to be the customer advocate while being able to manage business success.
• Tenacity, drive, the ability to be self-motivated, work independently and must have a competitive and winning spirit.
