About the Role 

 

The role of the Project Coordinator - Nuclear is to work with the customer, project management, and manufacturing teams to provide project and technical support.  Major responsibilities include coordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning and execution to ensure work is completed to the required quality standards on schedule and on budget.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:


•    Preparation and maintenance of schedules and resource forecasting.
•    Coordinating, facilitating and driving project scoping, planning, execution, and close out.
•    Coordinate the clarification of design and specification requirements and arrange for necessary changes.
•    Coordinate and participate in the preparation of specifications, bid packages, evaluation of tenders, and purchasing recommendations.
•    Arrange and lead meetings to coordinate the requirements of internal and external customers.
•    Lead design reviews and team meetings as required.
•    Review labor estimates, schedules, execution plans, inspection and test plans and project oversight plans. Gather input from stakeholder departments and agencies to ensure project  requirements are captured and detailed in the project documents.
•    Responsible for communicating schedule update and progress on design tasks to the Engineering Managers and the Project Manager.
•    Review and maintain awareness of all corporate and local procedures pertinent to engineering, quality assurance and project management. Maintain process compliance during project execution and advise supervisor if compliance cannot be achieved.
•    Organize documentation, including quotes, correspondence, requisitions, drawings, schedules, etc. on projects you are supervising.
•    Review requests for proposal documents and participate in the preparation of proposal.
•    Ensure completion of project milestones.
•    Maintain project tracking system.
•    Ensure adherence to Daily Visual Management (DVM) process.
•    Ensure escalation and closure of blocking points.

QUALIFICATIONS;

•    A post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, or alternately a trade certificate in a related filed is preferred.
•    A minimum of three years of experience in factory automation or manufacturing environment, including experience leading teams or projects is preferred.
•    A working knowledge of automation principles including pneumatics, hydraulics, controls, and electrical devices is preferred.
•    Proficient with Microsoft software tools including Word, Excel and Power Point etc.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
•    The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
•    Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently. 
•    Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
•    Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions. 
•    Working Conditions – The employee is subject to a normal office environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when visiting manufacturing floor.

•    Work in compliance with divisional Health, Safety, and Environmental Procedures.
•    Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through Lockout-Tagout methods.
•    Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts.
•    Report defect in any equipment or protective device.
•    Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned task.
•    Attend all required Health, Safety, and Environmental training.
•    Report any accidents/incidents.
•    Assist in investigating any accidents/incidents.
•    Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running, or rough and boisterous conduct.
