Overview
ATS’ Global Services team is a dynamic, change-leading team that drives the delivery of value-driven Services to our customers worldwide. Services is a growing component of the overall delivery of value to ATS’ customers globally and offers an opportunity for an opportunistic individual to create a well-defined offer structure of high-value service solutions to drive ongoing value.
The RSN NA (North America) Project Manager will be responsible for managing service project commitments from receipt of purchase orders through to completion and acceptance by the customer. The RSN PM will do so within budget and without deviations from target; ensuring we exceed customer’s expectations and guarantee repeat business.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the Services Point of Contact (POC) for customer accounts within your defined Segments and non ATS accounts.
- Manage existing customer accounts and use market intelligence to establish new customer accounts.
- Work closely with CapEx account managers and delivery teams whose responsibility is to install CapEx equipment at our customer sites.
- Oversee and manage the CapEx pre-installation process and will remain engaged with the customer through the installation, signoff, production startup and ramp up phase
- Travel up to 45% to customer sites to assess current line status and identify new services upselling opportunities.
- Responsible for ensuring total customer satisfaction, effective communication and service excellence as well as materializing the operational objectives/operational business plans.
- Effectively manage and lead the Division’s field service workforce multi-disciplined project team to execute projects on schedule, within budget, delivering the contracted scope of work to all applicable codes and standards.
- Participate in the preparation of proposals ensuring that the customers’ expectations are properly reflected in the technical concepts, completion schedule and contract cost budget, and that the budgeted gross margin is adequate. Plan for the operational resources to be applied to high probability projects.
- Ensure effective contract price negotiation and terms of payment with the customers.
- Upon receipt of the order, ensure compatibility of specifications on order with the proposal and review project concept, schedule and budget.
- Manage project risks through assessment, identification, and mitigation of potential risks
- Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions.
- Provide after sales technical feedback to engineering teams for machine performance and reliability improvements.
- Act as the primary after sales customer advocate for ongoing customer relatioonship.
- Document and conduct root cause analysis, issue investigation and resultant corrective actions for issues using a fact-based approach
- Appropriate interface and co-operation with the Sales and Finance Departments including observance of inter-department systems, routines and communications that are essential to the overall organizational efficiency.
- Ensure organizational compliance with statutory legislation or contractual legality and accountable for ensuring a Health and Safety program, as outlined in our Health and Safety Program Manual, is developed, implemented and enforced.
- Ownership of all milestones and deliverables.
- Track all contract changes and prepare CORs (Change Order Requests).
- Proactively identify & manage changes in project scope, identify potential problems, and devise contingency plans.
- Make recommendations for process, quality, and cost improvements.
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Qualifications
- A Post-Secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in customer service management, lean process, and procedure practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Six Sigma or Green Belt certification preferred.
- Attainment of or in the process of qualifying for the Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Knowledge of CRM (salesforce) and ERP (JDE) systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Service Project Kick-Off (PKO) meetings and Project Execution Planning (PEP).
- Ability to work effectively with both internal cross functional teams and customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential.
- Manage financial planning, budget and forecasting for projects.
- Previous experience managing a team of direct reports.
- Able to manage up to 20 projects simultaneously.
- Able to influence without authority.
- Ability to read, speak, write, & understand English in a professional manner.
- Strong initiative, innovative, and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
- Experience working with customers to resolve problems.
- Travel required up to 45% in Canada & U.S.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance.
- Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process.
- Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained.
- Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements.
- Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees is per established training matrix.
- Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts.
- Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition.
