Senior Staff Accountant
Job Description
This position will support various aspects of finance and accounting with an emphasis on project costs. This position requires solid accounting experience combined with strong analytical skills. The individual will need to possess strong problem-solving skills, work ethic, ability to work with minimal supervision, organizational skills, attention to detail, decision making skills and ability to work with others. This position will also require general accounting responsibilities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by Bill 198, ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the day to day management of most journal entries
• Reconciles the more complex accounts
• Updated the POCs and provide information for the bi-weekly PSMs.
• Complete the P & L spreadsheet on the SFR (SFR FIN Input)
• Analysis of the P&L including comments (report 5A)
• Complete the Balance Sheet on the SFR (SFR FIN Input)
• Analysis of the Balance Sheet with comments ( report 5B)
• Complete the entire SFR for Holding Companies
• Prepares the monthly Metrics Report
• Annually count the Fixed Assets inventory and evaluate for potential impairment of fixed assets.
• Assist in preparation of monthly General Ledger and auxiliary reports.
• Maintain/update the write-ups for Bill 198
• Support internal and external auditors as required
• Calculate SCM monthly savings
• Miscellaneous accounting projects as needed
• Serve as an ISO internal auditor for Quality Assurance.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent business degree.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in a manufacturing, financial and cost accounting environment. Must have ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with people at all levels of organization. Strong analytical, financial and accounting skills are essential. A working knowledge of PC based Microsoft applications for business is required.
