About the position:
The project engineer is responsible for the technical aspect of the client orders. You are responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project. Your role often starts before the contract is signed and will be needed during the whole project execution. You will need to define the technical requirements, collaborate with the planning department to build the project plan, influence and approve the design direction, review and accept the design submitted, define the testing matrix and approved the system once built.
Outcomes of the Role
- Reviewing and understanding the projects specifications and held the designer responsible for the work;
- Reviewing and approving the line design and system integration, and making sure the quality is up to standard;
- Ensure a smooth coordination between the different teams working on the project
- Preparing and updating the project plan and delegate the work to the engineering teams;
- Guiding designers through their projects by reviewing the design and making sure the quality is up to standard;
- Work with planning team to organize proper production schedule
- Supporting assembly and fabrication team with technical issues;
- Leading the machine and system testing;
- Built test schedule and test matrix
- Be responsible to provide support and guidance to other departments in the realization of the task.
- Support the service team and customer representative team;
- Provide proactive, timely and accurate support to the team in the form of preparing various documents, reports, track KPI’s etc.
Other things we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 4 or more years of experience in related position is required
- Machine design experience is an asset
- Project management experience is an asset
- Packaging industry knowledge is an asset
- Leadership experience is an asset
- Basic knowledge of 3D cad software is required, SolidWorks is an asset
- Basic knowledge of automation control is required (PLC, HMI, electrical cabinet, etc)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
