Manufacturing Engineer
SP Industries, an ATS company has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team!
The primary focus of the Manufacturing Applications Engineer is to coordinate all engineering aspects of planning, designing, selecting and integrating production machinery, tools (mold) and equipment for SP Scienceware. His or her secondary focus will be to provide engineering services to all other areas of the company, as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Plans and oversees all engineering aspects of equipment selection, tool making and automation projects including new and retrofitted equipment.
- Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements and implementation plans for new manufacturing machinery and existersees the engineering aspects of installation, startup, testing and debugging and troubleshooting processes to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
- Come up with operating procedures and implement new procedures for new or existing equipment.
- Determines specifications and procurement resources for components, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in operating condition. Provide training to other employees.
- Assists writing and implement PLC program and HMI interface.
- Assists New Product Development team in selecting manufacturing processes for new products and existing product improvements.
- Assist in product improvement and engineering change process. Provide support to other department to implement the engineering change notice.
- Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field and represents SP Industries.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Bachelor or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. One to two years directly related experience in all aspects of manufacturing engineering and automation. Expertise in preparing specifications, evaluation and selection, programming (PLC), installation, startup and troubleshooting of various PLC/HMI. Background in Computer Aided Design (SolidWorks) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical engineering design and production concepts
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Any additional required training is as determined appropriate by the immediate supervisor with inputs from, but not limited to the individual, management, personnel, or the safety committee.
