Picker Packer
This is a Monday - Friday, 1st shift posistion with hour from 7am - 3:30pm.
The primary purpose of this position is to pick, pack and ship various products from inventory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Reads and fills customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed
- Assembles and packs customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Marks materials with identifying information and maintains shipping records
- Prepares parcels for mailing.
- Maintains inventory records.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Picker Packer I & II have no supervisory responsibilities. Picker Packer III may require lead supervisory roles.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) are preferred. Basic computer literacy is preferred. Forklift operating experience is preferred. Must have demonstrated full competence as a Picker Packer I prior to becoming a Picker Packer II. Previous experience elsewhere may be considered toward qualifying as a Picker Packer II or III.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Any additional required training is as determined appropriate by the immediate supervisor with inputs from, but not limited to the individual, management, personnel, or the safety committee.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are typical of those an employee might encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The shop contains mobile equipment, machinery, and high voltages.
- The shop noise level is variable and may require hearing protection in some areas.
- The shop is heated when required but many areas are not air conditioned.

Work in compliance with the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through Lockout-Tagout methods.
- Actively pursue a duty to act where any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts are witnessed.
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts to your leader.
- Escalate any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts which leaders do not address to the General Manager (GM).
- Report any defect in any equipment or protective device.
- Ensure that the required personal protective equipment (PPE) is used for the assigned task.
- Complete all required Health, Safety, and Environmental training.
- Report any accidents/incidents, including near misses and injuries requiring first aid to your supervisor.
- Assist in investigating any accidents/incidents or near misses if requested.
- Refrain from engaging in any unruly conduct.
- Ensure that equipment, materials and protective devices are functioning in a safe manner.
- Ensure that employees are working in accordance with divisional health and safety procedures.
- Do not report to work onsite, at a customer’s site, or travel on behalf of the Company when feeling ill. Contact your leader immediately.
- Conform to all pandemic requirements identified by regulating authorities and ATS leadership during pandemic situations, e.g. social or physical distancing and various PPE requirements
- You are responsible for yourself relative to sanitizing your environmental footprint. Examples:
- Sanitize after use of any common or shared use item within the facility
- Properly dispose of any witnessed trash or rubbish within the facility to the proper receptacle regardless of the source – use of PPE is recommended for anything potentially determined to be a biohazard
- Properly dispose of liquids to prevent improper contaminants into the drain and surrounding water systems
- Smoke/Vape only in the designated patio space at the rear of Building 1 and the designated patio space adjacent to the docks of Building 2 – NOT within 25’ of any door, parking lot, or the trash/recycling area between the buildings.
