The Buyer will be responsible for expediting purchase orders, tracking, monitoring and maintaining purchase order deliveries and purchasing documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Process purchasing documentation in JD Edwards for all job, spare part & service related material
• Track, monitor and maintain purchase order deliveries to drive on-time delivery to production schedules.
• Expedite purchase orders based on input from project teams.
• Review part blueprints, understand type of subcontract work required and choose optimal sub-contract vendor.
• Negotiate prices, discounts, and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
• Expedite problems with suppliers regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of goods purchased.
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.
• Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.
• Keep informed of new sources of supply for materials and services.
• Perform on-going review of product and service to identify new opportunities for cost savings.

• Continuously maintain accurate enterprise resource planning (ERP) records with vendor master,  item masters, and fully understand MRP for full achievement of reporting features tried to supply chain roles.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• A post-secondary degree in Purchasing or equivalent work experience.
• Certified Supply Chain Professional  (CSCP) certification preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years in purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Sound working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems required;  JD Edward prefered.
