CNC / Machinist

The CNC Programmer/Toolmaker fabricates precision components with the main emphasis on final machining to very close tolerances.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and detail drawings along with product-related reference charts and tables to machine parts to drawings.
  • Setup and manufacture parts and precision tooling that require exact specifications and tolerances on CNC/Bridgeport mills.
  • Set-up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, and other applicable machine shop equipment
  • Manufacture parts to exact tolerances and finishes assuring quality and quantity
  • Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of all machine shop equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor
  • Adhere to all company safety requirements 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Two to Five (2 - 5) years’ experience as a toolmaker.
  • Strong math and communication skills.
  • Individual must have a knowledge and use of all other machining, milling, grinding, and turning skills to meet system specifications. 
  • Various machines and hand tools including mill, lathe, grinding, etc.
  • Inspection tools such as scales, micrometer, vernier, caliper, etc.
  •  Ability to schedule product and workload.
  •  Ability to read, interpret and make recommendations to engineering drawings.
  •  In-depth knowledge or machining and finishing processes.
  • Individual must have a knowledge and use of all other machining, milling, grinding, and turning skills to meet system specifications. 
  • a plus - Experience operating CNC and programing with specific machining experience/skills.  
  • a plus - CNC with conversational programming.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
  • Able to stand all day and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Visual Acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
  • Hearing Ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
  • Working Conditions – The employee is subject to exposure to high noise levels and/or physical hazards when working on the manufacturing floor.
  • Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
