Electrician III

The Electrician III assembles and wire controls cabinet panels and wire entire machine/system, and to provide electrical support for debugging operations.
What You’ll Do
- Interpret schematics, bill of materials (BOM), drawings and manufacturer guidelines in order to achieve the desired results.
- Use knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the national electrical code (NEC) regulations to produce safe and economically efficient machines/systems.
- Make decisions on parts, wiring, and minor changes; Interface with engineering to recommend major changes to planned layout/schematics.
- Record changes on engineering documentation.
- Layout and assemble electrical components to control cabinet panels.
- Wire all electrical components on machinery.
- Proficient in use of hand tools, soldering irons, mechanical and electronic test equipment to verify product standards.
- Provide directions to assistants.
- Perform preliminary input/output (I/O) debugging
- Interface with Lead Electricians in order to accomplish goals.
- Install and service machines at customer’s site as required.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices.
- Keep work area clean.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly fashion.
- Follow work instructions and maintain checklists.
- Maintain departmental goals in keeping with company objectives.
- Recommend improvements in order to facilitate company growth.
- Adhere to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485 certification requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience wiring machinery or equivalent experience.
- Capable of interpreting schematics.
- Good communications and math skills.
- Knowledge of OHSA and NEC regulations.
- Programming experience a plus.
- General knowledge of all types of hand tools, including crimpers and soldering equipment.
- General knowledge inspection equipment including calipers, various gages, and electronic test equipment –voltage regulators, amp meters, etc.
- General knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office suite.
JOB SECIFICATIONS:
- The employee may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
- Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
- Visual acuity – Normal requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens.
- Hearing ability – Normal requirements for understanding verbal instructions.
- Working conditions – The employee is subject to a manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to high noise levels and exposure to physical hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
- Capable of wearing appropriate related PPE for extended periods of time.
